I was just thinking, with all these repeat showings of 'classic' soaps like Corrie, Emmerdale and Holby City, I would love to see Brookside again.

Starting from the very first episode, please! It was November 1982.

Where has all that time gone.... Shock

Loved it. I wasn't born until 84 but still remember watching once I was old enough. I'd love to watch reruns. Had a mega crush on tinhead. His mate Steve the fireman was alright too although I appreciate these were in it when it started to go downhill with the incest storyline and helicopter crash.

chipsychopsy · 31/08/2019 21:52

There are a couple of classic episodes available on All 4.

Boyskeepswinging · 31/08/2019 21:55

Thanks for the heads up Chip. That's my Sunday viewing sorted.

Ihatesundays · 31/08/2019 21:58

There are a couple of classic episodes available on All 4.

OMG so excited!!

EskewedBeef · 31/08/2019 22:05

I remember watching it on the little portable TV in my nan's kitchen. The theme tune makes me feel a bit tearful now.

Gingerkittykat · 31/08/2019 22:06

Loved it, Beth Jordache was something of a hero to teenage me.

JimmyGrimble · 31/08/2019 22:06

My husband was in it in the early days!

FamilyOfAliens · 31/08/2019 22:54

No way, jimmy!

Was he a bit part or a bigger role?

JimmyGrimble · 31/08/2019 23:36

Returning role for about 6 months. Friend of the Collins kids. He was a wrong un.

NCB2019 · 31/08/2019 23:53

I loved it! They had every story line going before all the other soaps. There was a bomb scare. Dead abusive husband under the patio. Lesbian story line (Beth jordache). Surrogate mother (Jacqui for Max and susannah) using a turkey baster. Nat and Georgia incest. Jimmy corkhill biggest crook going becoming a teacher. Also jimmy corkhill using the vinegar from the fish and chip shop to soak his feet in and then putting it back in the bottles for customers. Infectious disease where the close had to be cordoned off... everyone had to give in a pee sample to see if they had it but jimmy corkhill used his dog's ore instead. 😂

Lindsey corkhill getting kidnapped and Barry grant rescuing her in a spin off video.

NCB2019 · 31/08/2019 23:54

Wee not ore!

Ginger1982 · 31/08/2019 23:56

Barry....😍

NCB2019 · 01/09/2019 00:13

I agree about Barry.😍

He was so not my type but I just would! 🙈😍😂

RubbingHimSourly · 01/09/2019 00:14

They're all on YouTube. My dp loves watching them.

MrsMoastyToasty · 01/09/2019 00:20

Sinbad
Terry McCardle
Ron "Dicko" Dixon
Tinhead

HarrietSchulenberg · 01/09/2019 00:52

"Max Farnham" used to come through my till when I worked at Sainsburys as a teenager. Usually quite late on a Friday night, when it was quiet.

I occasionally use the line Sinbad uttered when rescued from The Parade after the bomb. "It's wet I'm cold. Am I in Rhyl?".

I might have had a Barry Grant poster on my wall for a little while, from Jackie magazine.

Brookside was ace!

WhoEatsPopTarts · 01/09/2019 06:51

I’m in, I watched from the beginning.

x2boys · 02/09/2019 20:26

I bloody loved Brookie ,i.used I watch with my Dad on the Saturday omnibus ,but it did get ridiculous in the end .

Ihatesundays · 02/09/2019 20:49

I started watching episodes on YouTube today and got really over excited. So much I thought I had forgotten, but as soon as I watch it, it all comes flooding back.

I lived in Liverpool in the early 90s, saw loads of the actors in the city centre.

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 02/09/2019 21:38

Remember Damon's friends Ducksy & Gizmo?

smileannie · 02/09/2019 21:48

The Corkhills, Billy, JImmy, can’t remember wife or daughters names, son Rod the Plod. Big Mo played by Tina Malone. Single dad Mick (think he was in Corrie recently). Would love to see it all again.

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 02/09/2019 22:13

I had a huge crush on Peter Harrison(who is now married to Leanne from Corrie IRL).
I did my PGCE in Liverpool in the 80s and remember saying hello to someone who looked familiar in the pub one night. Then my friend told me it was the bloke who played Frank Rogers.

thenightsky · 02/09/2019 22:16

OMG. I clicked on this hoping there would be a link to where it was being shown so I could record it!!!

Get it on!

Remember Sinbad and the graffiti '(d)rug dealer?

SallyCinnamon3009 · 02/09/2019 22:40

You can actually visit the close! It's just a normal street now not far from Knowsley Safari Park

SallyCinnamon3009 · 02/09/2019 22:42

The close
