OMG!

I know it's educational but please - 'can you see your poo Pippin?' - it beggars belief!

Hardly appropriate lunchtime viewing!

Both DH and I remember the boy/dog thing. Can't think what it was called. DH suggests Bebjy, but not very convincingly.

linniewith2 · 23/09/2004 21:31

I cant remember ...........but it was ages ago as i am now 30 and remember seeing at whilst at school.
That will bug me for ages now

Demented · 23/09/2004 21:32

Yes, it was Woof! Blast from the past!

linniewith2 · 23/09/2004 21:33

Yes woof that was it and I'm SURE it was pippin

Hulababy · 23/09/2004 21:36

Yes, done a search - was Woof, and it was on ITV.

Hulababy · 23/09/2004 21:39

Found a forum thread on it:

"i remeber this !!!!!
it was on citv in the late 80's/ early 90's. it was about this lad called eric who whenever his nose itched it meant he was about to turn into a dog also starred lisa goddard as his teacher. "

" remember this, and i have a copy of "Woof - The tail Wags On" book, which i bought at junior school book fair in 1990!"

"yeah, i remember this...there were two different actors too. the first was eric who turned into a black and white dog (i think) and then another kid who turned into a scruffy mongrel. i loved that! "

"The first few series' starred Edward Fidoe as Eric. He starred in it for a few years. It hinged on the fact that someone wanted a dog, so he turned into one!! The girl who starred in it was called Sarah Smart, and was also in The Braithwaites. I can't remember the other lad in it, but I seem to recall he was called Tom? After that they set up a new series (or many?) starring a different kid turning into the dog. Never watched it after Edward left tho!!"

PIPPIN IS ALIVE

miggy · 23/09/2004 22:39

This was dds fav programme and sad that I am, we made our own video by taping all the episodes onto one tape. We always had to fast forward the brickworks episode though (where they make you think pippin gets squashed by a lorry) as she couldnt bear to watch it!

linniewith2 · 23/09/2004 22:45

Yay Pippin is ALIVE sure its pippin jnr in that bakers complete advert with the dobermans....or it could be "the pippin" what do u think?

verona · 24/09/2004 08:36

Love this thread!
Whilst looking at the BBC shop website I noticed that they had Come Outside videos. Got very excited til I saw the price. £79.99. Ouch Admittedly for 5 videos but even so...

verona · 24/09/2004 08:39

Oh. Should have looked properly before I posted here. They sell them individually for £17.99. Still too much to cough up. If only I could work out how to record from freeview.

Demented · 24/09/2004 22:22

I was in WH Smith today browsing for books for DS1 and I thought of this thread when I came across Woof! by Alan Ahlberg, the book of the series!

Glad to hear that Pippin is alive and well.

Carla, did you get my mail?

EvilDragon · 24/09/2004 22:30

That woman brought Pippin back from the states "in the early 80s". How old would that make the dog now...?

sammac · 25/09/2004 11:52

Carla, just to say many thanks, it has arrived! Ds very excited and can't wait to see back-to-back Pippins.
Your daughters are gorgeous and you are a star!!

Demented · 27/09/2004 14:42

Carla, I've just mailed you, ours arrived on Saturday too although we have been out all weekend and haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Thank you so much and just to echo Sammac, your DDs are gorgeous!

Demented · 28/09/2004 13:37

DS2 is now addicted to "doggy" as he calls it, he is watching the video on continuous loop, thank you again!
