OMG!

I know it's educational but please - 'can you see your poo Pippin?' - it beggars belief!

Hardly appropriate lunchtime viewing!

at least with the poo one she doesn't make off with a free sample from the sewage plant. Every other factory she visits, she swipes a load of stuff and never pays for it (toothpaste, floor brush, teapot, bricks - list is endless). Nurse Gladys, as I recall, always paid in full.

The poo one is both my dds all time favourite Come Outside, much talked about and well remembered. Dd1 saw it age 3 at pre-school and still talks about it. She's now nearly 7, and dd2 saw it at the same age and we taped it a while ago. They love it!!

Did you see the Tony Robinson programme about Elizabethan sewage workers on 11 Sept? That was my ex, it was, showing him round and telling him all about it. Did a PhD on Tudor Filth. Halfway through which, I will admit, I chucked him

I knew they were old, miriam - remember watching the poo one with ds1, now nearly 8 - but I didn't know they were that old!

I love "Come Outside" - she learns about some really interesting things and sings some lovely songs. Don't like the one with the Ercol chair but like the teapot one and the dry cleaning one, ooh and the spider one, oh yes and the one with brushes, and the one where Pippin gets left on the bus, and the one where Aunty Mabel gets locked in the house and it's on fire...just how many episodes are there?

I bet when she had to pick up that poo and then go in the sewer she was longing for the good old days with G...G...G...Granville and Arkwright

Caught a glimpse of it the other day and ds (who as I said is 13) is STILL convinced Auntie Mabel really flies the plane!

One of my friends who is a GROWN UP thinks Aunty Mabel flies the plane - "but you see her getting in it and taking off..." Duh!

It is disgusting, seen this episode a few times and fact that you can actually SEE the sh*t is gross. Added to the fact that they show it at lunchtime and tea time, Erk.

If that's normal telly for 3 - 5 year olds why not an episode on blowing your nose then we can show Pippin whats in our hanky - or one on vomit - kids do that a lot - 'Pippin, come see the peas and carrots I've just upchucked' - Marvellous!

Forgot to say Aunty Mabel has taught dd1 age 2 to tut loudly and say OH MUMMY !

Dear god! I have never noticed the dog was a fake!!! anyways, I find this thread very amusing, it seems very much that old Victorian values are still pretty much in vogue: lets pretend poo (awful word, good heavens!) doesn't exist!!!

Chandra, next time you're looking at the fake dog in the plane, check out the bloke in a ginger wig sitting next to it.

Don't know either if anyone noticed today how she went to the wool factory and nicked a load of wool - honestly she never pays for anything.

Awww I love Come Outside and remember the Sewage episode fondly!

But I would just love the workers to say "no you can't come and watch us make toothpaste, bog off you nosy old cow!" She seems to be able to swan in and out any old workplace as she pleases!

And I'm not listening - IT IS Auntie Mabel flying that plane (la la la la - fingers in my ears)
