I hate this. Why is it not working for me?

Watching episode 1 now. Can't believe they said there was 60 people in the lesson!

I don't understand how a one off payment of £30,000 can pay for another English teacher.

Just watched the first two episodes - I think the basic premise is all wrong. Yes, of course there are people who buck the trend and are successful in business after doing badly at school, but for the other 99% of the population, their best bet is to realise that qualifications will give them choices in life that will result in good careers/successful lives. A message that's particularly appropriate for GCSE results day.

Agree that the school must have picked out a handful of potential pupils for the secret teachers to choose from. It was all very contrived.

I’d be furious if I thought I’d allowed a bloody fraud into my classroom.

And let’s be frank: “I want to give them an opportunity they’ve never had” us bloody rude. Do they think we just yell at those kids? Don’t understand what they’re going through? Don’t CARE?

I’m actually quite upset. They swan in for five minutes, think they get it and ‘fix’ someone?!

I think it's really creepy actually. They get to pick a kid and have little chats with them and reinforce the crap attitude

This is a really weird programme

They’ve not grown up, clearly. They still see teachers as ‘The Enemy’; it’s why they can’t cope in the classroom. They can’t split themselves away from the kids- they want to be the “cool” teacher.

This programme is bloody awful. It genuinely seems to imply that teachers are useless and kids need someone to swoop in and save them.

No excuse. My twin cousins lost their mother at 13 to cancer when she was 38. They have the upmost respect for everyone.

It just feels like undercover boss gone wrong. They don’t KNOW these kids. The staff do, but you make them seem like twats so you can be the hero. No fucking clue about the reality if it!
