Apparently Chris told the press that there were flirty moments between Jordan and India that weren’t shown and he knew that Jordan’s head was gonna turn....

Starksforthewin · 25/07/2019 03:09

Or that.

However, given it seems to be her default setting for every disagreement, walking away probably wouldn't cut it more than once.

Having watched the video above of Anna's sister, I can see they are cut from the same cloth. Foul mouthed and thick. Their parents must be so proud...not.
Whichever poster said Vicky Pollard got it spot on!

Starksforthewin · 25/07/2019 03:17

I also wish we could vote for singles. The recouplings have been really badly managed this year, and they had the wrong cast in there from the beginning.

Chris, Greg and Ovie are by far the most likeable boys.

Maura has made the show and I think Francesca too would have been a better choice than some of the girls who were in from the beginning. Molly isn't remotely entertaining, and Anna and Amber loved their mean girls act too much.
It's a shame Greg is coupled with Amber. He would have been great for Francesca.

Anton has ridden his luck. His mother on Aftersun was SO embarrassing, she was drunk as a skunk!

I think they need to find some nice people for next time, move away from the Instagram pond and review applications properly. It's really lazy to just fish from the same interconnected pool of people. Camilla was such a breath of fresh air last year. Intelligent and articulate, with a life outside make up videos.

SharedBluePlanet · 25/07/2019 04:11

Curtis is getting larger by the day. I think some of them are eating at least double the amount they usually would. They get decent meals and seem to be piling back the toasties every night. I suppose it is the sheer boredom.

No doubt there will be a 'Waltz away your Wide Arse' video planned upon his release

Moomin8 · 25/07/2019 04:51

Chris, Greg and Ovie are by far the most likeable boys.

I completely agree. But I'm willing to bet the producers didn't want too many nice boys in there because nastier, more selfish people are more likely to suddenly dump their partner who they appeared to be happy with......which has happened a lot this show.

SharedBluePlanet · 25/07/2019 05:00

@Moomin8 completely agree to make the show work they need the right balance of arseholes and legends. Too many arseholes and it is effectively TOWIE. Too many nice guys and it's the Great British Bake Off but without any cakes.

Moomin8 · 25/07/2019 05:34

I think the original people they had in there at the 'step forward' were generally not nice at all. Hence the bullying that went on.

NotJustACigar · 25/07/2019 06:23

To be quite frank I don't really mind whether the islanders are nice or not - I mind whether they're interesting it not. Last year the islanders I really enjoyed watching were Meghan and Adam. Alex was so annoying that I can't say I enjoyed watching him but it was interesting to see how his fake nice guy act just wasn't working. Adam was such a snake it brought up discussions about gaslighting and trust that were worth discussing in real life I thought. It was fascinating to watch the way both he and Meghan operated.

This year I thought the only really interesting drama was between Michael and Amber but these islanders themselves weren't particularly intriguing to watch. Maura has a lot of personality but I find her quite vulgar which puts me off (I admit I'm behind the times, though). Chris and Ovie are fun but the rest are dullsville. I actually stopped watching last week but enjoy the comments on this thread much more than the show itself and the discussions here keep me updated.

Oilyskinproblems · 25/07/2019 06:58

Chris, Ovie and Greg do seem really nice but so did Michael and Jordan at the beginning. It was only weeks/months in that we started to see a side to them we didn’t like. Who’s to say Chris, Greg or Ovie wouldn’t have shown a different side if they’d been in from the beginning? Plus none of them have been ‘tested’ when in reasonably solid relationships like Jordan and Michael.

butmaybe · 25/07/2019 07:30

The more a post goes on about 'nasty bullies' and 'mean girls' etc, the more unpleasant the actual poster themselves comes across. So many posters manage to comment & criticise with wit & humour but others seem to have wandered over from Jeremy Kyle!

Bellendejour · 25/07/2019 07:37

One thing I wondered about is how much criticism the housemates have received and how moralistic people have been about their behaviour... There seemed to be lots of partner swapping, dumping and cracking on last year and in previous years, but it seems like it was treated more like part of the show and accepted, both inside the house and out. This year it’s triggered massive arguments and fallouts in the villa and hate campaigns on Twitter. Has it changed or is it the same and I’m just more engaged this year? #maternityleave

Anyway I love Maura, she is vulgar and I know she isn’t perfect but I think she’s genuine. I love women who use the word vagina freely and proudly. I like the fact that she forged a friendship with MM after being ‘rivals’. And I’m glad she has a take no shit approach to men. She’s does like Curtis but I agree, she won’t take any crap off him and will be off up and away if he pulls any nonsense on the outside. She will come out to I’d say overall praise, whereas he’ll come out to ‘bit of a twat’ to ‘selfish narcissist’.

I’d love her to make the final but think Curtis is dragging her down...

Ah well. Tanks for the memories.

MardyMavis · 25/07/2019 07:54

@SharedBluePlanet 🤣 or mamba away your man boobs! he has got hefty tbf.

Pricedrop · 25/07/2019 07:56

Totally agree @bellendejour ❤️. She would be the greatest friend to have. She is way too good for Curtis

I actually think Anna would also be a great friend to have. Her arguing style is ridiculous, but meh

Moomin8 · 25/07/2019 07:58

I wonder if Anna is right about Curtis being a narcissist because that has crossed my mind more than a few times.

ooooohbetty · 25/07/2019 08:07

I've enjoyed this series much more than last years. Mainly due to who is in it and also that they haven't shown too much of the sexy time they've got up to this series. Remember the 'Do bits society' last year. Gross. I disagree that Maura has made this series. I wouldn't miss her if she wasn't there. I find her very unlikeable. I love Tommy, Ovie, Chris and Greg. I've never liked Jordan. Always though he was insincere. Out of the girls I like MM, Belle, India and I liked Amy and Harley.

Pricedrop · 25/07/2019 08:09

He is definitely not right, is he @moomin8

Why any one goes to him for advice, I have NO idea. Ovie appears to have the measure of him

Zampa · 25/07/2019 08:11

I think Anna was right in that Curtis only does things if he thinks they'll make him look good but I'm not sure he's a narcissist.

He's just on a TV programme that could launch a career for him in the public eye. He's so conscious of how he's coming across, it's back fired.

Moomin8 · 25/07/2019 08:16

Curtis has always been a twat - he handled the Amy situation horribly. He then calls people brave for horrible behaviour.

TitsInAbsentia · 25/07/2019 08:17

Laughing in the train (I too have a wide arse so I feel like I can!). I suspect he has been eating the same quantities as the rest of the guys but doesn’t work out like them so Cake Cake Cake 🐷

AuntieStella · 25/07/2019 08:21

Utterly fed up with Curtis being the one whose comments about events are shown. Would have preferred to see just about anyone else in the chair.

The use of the word 'narcissist' was no more inaccurate than the way it's thrown around on MN so much of the time.

Bellendejour · 25/07/2019 08:22

Ah thanks @Pricedrop does celebratory Salmon into pool

Ah I will miss Chris’ salmons so much! He is made for presenting though so I feel we will be seeing lots more of him. Like a new funnier Alex Zane.

Chris has come out saying Jordan and India were chatting loads more than was shown which makes sense. I think though that what the guys class as flirting is just talking/having fun about eg favourite fruits or playing silly throw the cucumber games and they can’t seem to get the difference/are just very hopefully projecting.

tigerlily111 · 25/07/2019 08:25

Oh come on! It's not real! No one is looking for love. The contestants are looking for £50k and to launch a show biz career whilst itv are looking for lively TV programme and the revenue flowing therefrom

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 25/07/2019 08:29

Did anyone watch Amy on the Loose Women panel yesterday? She was talking about the social media training they have on exit and how they are each told which words to filter from their Twitter feeds, such as ugly etc. I thought that was quite interesting.

Bellendejour · 25/07/2019 08:36

Curtis was fortunate in a way that Amy had shown herself to be quite nasty/bitchy and deluded about the relationship (some of this was his fault, but it was also hers) so he didn’t attract the same general wrath

KitKatKit · 25/07/2019 08:37

@butmaybe You hit the nail on the head. Noticing how you're getting very little discourse back from those posters too!
