I was really excited about this series and have just finished it but found myself just wanting to get to the end out of curiosity rather than real enjoyment. The first 2 series I loved and binge watched because I was desperate to see what happened next. Is it just me or did anyone else find it annoying, silly and minus the magic of 1 and 2? I love all the actors and really liked Erica and Robin but despite the great acting I had mentally clocked off.

Will is the one who freaks me out the most! I think the actor is in IT and now he scares me!

I absolutely loved all the 80s pop culture references. "You're a cop, they have rules", Fast Times at Ridgemont High, making the big Russian an Arnie/Terminator homage... even the Russian lab was like a Rodger Moore era Bond villain's lair.

I loved it. It was a very different vibe to the first two series but the cinematography was brilliant; I loved the vivid 80s colours and the graphic 'monster' shots. I'd love the visit the Starcourt Mall, apparently they refurbished a genuine 80s building. The end had me crying like a baby. Not keen on the teaser for series 4 though - they should've ended it there.

Finally caught the last episode. I really enjoyed it! Was surprised.
Unlike a PP I loved Dustin and Suzie's "Neverending Story" duet! Was a bit of comic relief, especially as the monster was chasing the car. Was sad about person who died... if indeed they did.
DD loved Erica!

It took me till about episode 5 of S3 to start getting a 'feel' for it. I didn't understand the Russians in the basement of the mall, although I do recall in the first series El was used to spy on Russians.

I much preferred the first 2 series. This one felt out of place, but I understand from a plot point of view that they can't keep going into the upside down otherwise the story will get stale.

Also, if your name begins with B don't move to Hawkins, Indiana.

I cannot get enough of this show. Just finished s3 and I loved it. It's just such a well done show. The acting, music etc, all the small details that aren't even mentioned. Its truly amazing.

Turquoise4 · 17/07/2019 22:05

Well we loved it. The comedy, the 80's fashion, culture and music references and Murphy's match making speeches were so good. Hopper was great in this series too.

Took a while to get into but loved it. Loved Dustin’s and Susie’s duet, sang along with them. I also enjoyed Robin and Steve and of course Erica. Will didn’t really bring much this season but I enjoyed Billy being controlled by the mind flare. It was also interesting to get a little bit of background on Billy.

SnakesAndStones · 20/07/2019 10:12

Hopper is an absolute god of a man and I would climb him like a tree.

SimonArch1983 · 20/07/2019 10:13

Best series yet!!

LoseLooseLucy · 20/07/2019 10:18

Get your arse in the queue Snakes 😬

boringlyboring · 20/07/2019 10:40

Glad I’m not the only one with a crush on Hopper

Serenajoy1 · 20/07/2019 23:22

Nope didn't like it at all. Not sure if we can post spoilers here? Don't want to ruin it for anyone but I'm surprised they are doing another season, the best bit is gone Confused

StormyLovesOdd · 21/07/2019 22:22

I loved season 3, especially as it's the first show me and my 11 year old has been able to watch and really enjoy together.

We've watched season 3 twice so far and we're planning to watch the whole lot again over the summer holidays. Yes, parts of it was kitch but then so was the 80's. I've watched the duet with Dusty and Suzie soo many times, loved it

Serena did you watch the scene during the credits?

Terriere · 21/07/2019 23:59

It was very watchable but a right mess. Billy was massively underused - he was far more scary than the big cgi monster. Far too much tedious stuff in the mall. Wtf with the Russians? All over the place. By the end I felt i couldn't care less if I never saw any of the surviving characters again

Samcro · 22/07/2019 07:59

just finished it.
thank goodness I told ds and he said watch the scene after the credits

Daisypie · 22/07/2019 08:06

Loved it, especially the duet. I did think too much of the plot development hinged on the main characters never catching up with each other and putting the pieces together.

Daisypie · 22/07/2019 08:06

DD is angry the Billy didn't get a redemption arc.
