Thank you @AnotherEmma for starting this new thread. Bedtime done, so I'm settling down to watch Smile

HigaDequasLuoff · 30/06/2019 20:56

Checking in.

AnotherEmma · 30/06/2019 20:57

We usually start watching 10-15 minutes late so we can fast forward the adverts, but I'm feeling impatient tonight!

Thanks. I was trying to do it but every time I clicked on start a new thread it kept disappearing.

Oh no think Aunt Lydia is going to go mad again.

RHTawneyonabus · 30/06/2019 21:08

I find it so odd when they play beautiful music like Jesu Joy in this.

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 30/06/2019 21:10

Did you notice the staircase was in the shape of an eye! Fingers crossed a happy ending for Emily!!

TheFirstOHN · 30/06/2019 21:16

I'm watching but about 10 mins behind so may not follow the thread live. Will join in at the end.

GenerationEx · 30/06/2019 21:19

Placemarking

Invisimamma · 30/06/2019 21:19

Checking in. Praise be.

OriginofSpecies · 30/06/2019 21:19

Yes, I noticed the eye shaped staircase. Amazing images as always.

CurbsideProphet · 30/06/2019 21:20

I'm hoping we'll see some more of Emily this week Smile

MoobaaMoobaa · 30/06/2019 21:21

oh no I hope they haven't given her Stockholm syndrome, and we are now going to see her obsess over Fred 🤢

I though last were writing Nick out, which I found strange, but now I think maybe it's so they can make a story of her a d Fred........

viques · 30/06/2019 21:23

Zigzag. I noticed that!

I am a little confused by the time jumps, baby Angela doesn't look much older than she did before, but I don't remember June being pregnant when the bridge stuff happened, and aunt Lydia seems to have made a very fast recovery. Clearly time in Gilead is a fluid concept.

And where is Emily's baby! Oh dear another time jump! He's at school, not a baby, or even a toddler.

Barbadosgirl · 30/06/2019 21:24

That would make me vomit.

It is strange how a fertility crisis seems to have wiped out racism. I have not noticed any negative attitudes re having a black Handmaid and a dual heritage baby.

RandomMess · 30/06/2019 21:25

Die Lydia die

HigaDequasLuoff · 30/06/2019 21:25

Someone cutting onions

viques · 30/06/2019 21:26

Loved the way aunt Lydia was put in her place by Naomi, in with the proles not the elite. Won't have improved her temper!

IcedPurple · 30/06/2019 21:31

Am I the only one getting bored with this?

gingajewel · 30/06/2019 21:36

I loved season one and two and am just not loving this season, it seems to be dragging! Nothing seems to be making sense, as pp said the ages of the babies seems to not match up, June suddenly becoming the person that Fred confides in and also how she is blatantly treated so differently to all the other handmaids yet no one bats an eyelid! I’m just not loving it anymore!

Crinkle77 · 30/06/2019 21:36

iced I do agree that the pace needs to pick up a bit now.

hopeishere · 30/06/2019 21:37

The time is also v weird to me. The
Putnams baby would be much bigger now.

How many years was Emily in Gilead / the colonies?

Serena is a fascinating character.

Post coital cigarette?

MoobaaMoobaa · 30/06/2019 21:37

IcedPurple no. I watch because I want it to be as it was. instead dh and me are pointing out stuff that she really wouldn't be doing.

BonjourMinou · 30/06/2019 21:38

Yes that cigarette looked post coital to me. June looks drunk on power.
