I’ve got it on dvd.
Any good? I’m on episode 3 and so far it’s not great.
I’ve heard it’s brilliant so should I persevere?

I’m lost without Game of thrones so im clutching at straws to find something brilliant.

So the boring is part of the plan then?
Something good is coming and it will be worth the wait??

It took me three goes to get into Breaking Bad but I eventually loved it. I'd say stick it out to the middle of the second season, but if you don't like it by then it's probably not for you.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 05/07/2019 20:41

Boring? BORING? Are you sure it's Breaking Bad you're watching? Can you pm me your address so I can come round and kick you hard in the shin?

AnnaDine · 05/07/2019 20:42

I loved it from the start so I’m guessing it’s not for you

Yutes · 05/07/2019 22:10

I didn’t like it or any of the characters. It never lived up to the hype for me.

findingmyfeet12 · 06/07/2019 00:19

I nearly cried towards the end over something that happened to Jesse.

GreenDragon75 · 06/07/2019 00:54

Dare I say I thought BB was over hyped. It was good and some bits brilliant but there were also bits where it really plodded. I did watch it all though and glad I did.
Am also in a GOT lull. Nothing else lives up to it except Killing Eve - oh and Peaky Blinders starting soon.
I didn’t like the first series of GOT - too confusing, I had no clue what was happening and found it unnecessarily violent and mysoginistic. So glad I persevered.

clpsmum · 06/07/2019 01:46

@GreenDragon75 have you seen sons of anarchy? I absolutely loved breaking bad but SOA pips it at the post for me

Effendi · 06/07/2019 06:19

It has a proper, appropriate ending so not like Lost at all.
I admit that it took me a few episodes to get into and there were some slow moments but honestly I loved it and was bereft when it ended.

I loved Hank and Jessie.

I'll have to watch it again now.

growlingbear · 06/07/2019 06:23

Breaking Bad is the best TV drama I've ever seen, except Better Call Saul (the prequel) which is probably not as good but I just love Jimmy and Kim so much.

But never seen GoT. Is it as good as BB?

GreenDragon75 · 06/07/2019 08:04

@clpsmum Yes I have watched Sons of Anarchy. I think I got stuck on series 4 or 5 as it got a bit samey. I might go back to it though

crosser62 · 10/07/2019 09:19

It’s getting better but I’m still waiting for something to happen.

I’ve downloaded peaky blinders so I’m going to binge on that when I’ve finished breaking bad... I’m kind of plodding on with it tbh.

Keep watching.. if you've not been introduced to Hector, Gus Fring or my ALL TIME FAVOURITE Mike Ehrmantraut you've barely begun ;)

HeronLanyon · 10/07/2019 10:24

It is absolutely wonderful. I too am about to rewatch (have in the meantime watch my three most favourite scenes - two make me cry and one is sublimely beautiful.

BlackCatSleeping · 10/07/2019 10:41

I loved BB but it is a slow burner. It sounds like you are looking for something a little more action packed. You should enjoy Sons of Anarchy. Have you seen Vikings? It’s good.

crosser62 · 10/07/2019 10:44

Not seen either of those and not wanting action packed I have come to the realisation that it will all fall into place soon enough and amount to a great show. I’m quietly hooked as I’m curious as to where all of this will lead.
Yet to meet those characters but have met Saul who I quite like despite his questionable ethics and money grabbing ways...

Cool is right about Mike.
He has some cracking one liners.

Breaking bad..
NiLunNiLautre · 10/07/2019 16:38

Ah Mike, the world's best (and dodgiest) grandad!

DGRossetti · 10/07/2019 16:40

I hope all the Mike fans have watched Better Call Saul ....

Cruddles · 10/07/2019 17:12

I watched to the end of season 3 and couldn't get into it. Didn't like any of the characters, especially Jesse, spent most of my time hoping the bad guys would win.

Helsvamp · 10/07/2019 17:14

I really don't want to get to 41 let alone 42

NoSauce · 12/07/2019 08:39

JESUS CHRIST MARIE Grin

Loved BB. Genuinely jealous of anyone that’s about to start watching it for the first time.

zonkin · 12/07/2019 16:42

@MeganRapinoe I also had a bit of a crush on Hank the BIL. Also Mike....

I thought series 4 was a bit boring but series 5 was excellent.

Also, recommend Better Call Saul

Fromage · 12/07/2019 16:52

I watched the first few episodes when it was first out.

Bored. Rubbish. Wtf was everyone on about? It was crap.

Ffwd a few years and it's on some Freeview channel and for reasons involving wine, I sat and watched the first episode and set series record.

LOVED IT! OBSESSED! OMFG MIKE! THE CHICKEN RESTAURANT! THE NURSING HOME! GALE! THE BROTHERS! THE FELLA WITH THE SHORT NOSE WHO LOOKS A BIT LIKE MATT DAMON! THE LOTTERY TICKET - GENIUS! NONE OF THESE THINGS ARE SPOILERS!

That said, I find people either love it or don't get it. I didn't get it at first but for some reason later it clicked. After it was on TV the second time, I bought the box set and watched the whole thing all over again.

Best TV series ever.

HeronLanyon · 12/07/2019 16:54

Hank. Boy, there’s a character and actor.
