The producers play a massive part in it all and manipulate it to create more drama and then pretend they had no play in it when shit hits the fan and people complain!

Yes, this is why I like seeing what the others have to say. Amber seemed concerned that Yewande will gi back to her negative self, the other seemed to agree. Amber said she couldnt handle it.

For me, that shows that Yewande is a negative person. They spend all day with her and dont see the edited bits.

They showed Amy walking like that on purpose because it looked strange and would get people talking in all the wrong ways. Cruel. But to them any publicity is good publicity.

See , despite not liking her. If that's why they showed it, its just awful.

And the Joe thing. Instead of maybe talking to him about his behaviour before he started getting ahead of himself with Lucie they just watched it play out so he looked like a controlling psycho. Then manipulated the voting so people would want him to leave

Yea they could have done so much more.

carmenbea · 23/06/2019 11:43

I imagine that's why the last couple of years they haven't done any of the entertaining challenges like guess who the tweets about as although it's good TV it must be awful for them.

Louise0701 · 23/06/2019 11:50

Yeah I agree a lot of it is the producers doing. We get 45 mins out of 24 hours. The unseen bits was very telling regards Amy & Lucie as I have seen Lucie being with the girls a lot during those shows which I think is what made a lot of people think Amy was being a bitch.
@Gummybear11 yes I agree I think she thought she would be the nations sweetheart. Someone mentioned she’s done pageants etc and I do think she imagined herself being the sweet, girly star of the show.

But in terms of the contestants as a collective; they have all watched the show before I would assume and they are all on social media. There’s no excusing death threats BUT we’ve all seen the online abuse in previous years, we’ve all heard about Sophie & Mike & a lot of people simply wouldn’t put themselves in that position. Some people would do anything for fame.

HappyPeopleDay · 23/06/2019 12:32

Interesting First Look - Danny's been called out for lying to both Yewande and Arabella - looks like Yewande could walk

SheStoodInTheStorm · 23/06/2019 12:33

Anyone seen first look?!

Don't read on if you don't want to know...

Islanders calling out Danny on his behaviour and telling different people different things and Yewende thinking about leaving.

SlipperOrchid · 23/06/2019 12:33

I think the problem Amy had was that after doing all the beauty pageants

I’ve just looked this up. She was a former Miss UK? Is that actually true? I’m very surprised. I’m not a fan of hers but part of me felt sorry for her despite her cattiness and petulant because she seemed so out of her depth. Now I am aware she seemingly just wants fame, any sympathy I had for her has evaporated!

Whisky2014 · 23/06/2019 12:34

Right just watched first look and I'm do fused as to why everyone has turned on Danny?

So yewande is saying he lied because a few days ago he said his head wouldn't be turned but obv since Arabella arrived his head has been turned. Ok. Except at the time yewande had barely spoken to him, made no attempt to act affectionately etx so why does she expect he can't change his mind?

What lie has he told re. Arabella to everyone else? That there was no flirting? Cause I'm pretty sure when be came back from the date he did tell the guys it was great...

I'm actually starting to hate this show and all it's about. Its very childish and petty, dangerous to each person on the show because we can see the public turn against them at the drop of a hat and the fact it's all directed by the producers.
I'm not sure I can watch it anymore and I have a feeling whatever comes from this show, it's going to be the last season of it.

Good.

Proteinshakesandtears · 23/06/2019 12:40

I think people are turning on Danny because he hasnt been honest.

He told Yewande he woildnt look elsewhere. She kept pushing him away. I think he was right to seek to make an connection with Arabella. To this point I dont think he did anything wrong.

However, when Yewande opened up to him. He just have just told her he was still wanting to get to know Arabella.

He was telling Arabella one thing and Yewande another.

Had he have told Yewande hevwas still going to pursue Arabella, no one would be annoyed at him.

It's because he hasnt been upfront. That's caused issues because Arabella has been.

He should have just been honest.

Gummybear11 · 23/06/2019 12:41

Yes they've all watched the show before but I don't think a lot of them ever imagine that they will be disliked!

First Look: I feel like this is all a bit unfair on Danny. Suddenly he's the bad guy?

Gummybear11 · 23/06/2019 12:43

Yes he should have been more upfront with Y when she said she was going to show him more affection, but come on, it was too little too late. Y's fault.

Whisky2014 · 23/06/2019 12:44

Yah it's unfair. I think he didn't want to put his eggs in the yewande basket because frankly, she's been acting very weird and who would believe her when she says she's ready to be more affectionate? She's threatened because she could leave if arabella picked Danny. Or vice versa.
The whole ill go and be affectionate now
...oh wow what a lucky guy Danny is..

Its all a load of shit.

Gummybear11 · 23/06/2019 12:50

@Whisky2014 exactly!!
And now looks like the whole gang have turned on him conveniently forgetting how cold she was? It's all "Yewande was right not to trust him all along"?!
He's not the first person on there not to be 100% honest, Arabella hadn't told him she definitely wanted to couple up with him and he seemed to genuinely like Y but be cautious it wasn't genuine from her.

Oh poor Danny.

Whisky2014 · 23/06/2019 12:52

Did you hear the noise Yewande made when Danny tried to speak? Weird!

Chipstick10 · 23/06/2019 12:53

I remember reading before the show had even started that one of the contestants (I now know to be Amy) had said her worst customer had been Kirsty Allsopp . Said something along the lines that she was rude or some such thing and Kirsty had responded with something like “making enemies before you have even found fame is a stupid move “

Dickybow321 · 23/06/2019 12:56

I'm actually starting to hate this show and all it's about. Its very childish and petty, dangerous to each person on the show because we can see the public turn against them at the drop of a hat and the fact it's all directed by the producers.

You're right, this is crazy! People get hate for just being human and imperfect. Yes, he should have been up front but who is 100% assertive and says the correct thing in every awkward situation100% of the time?

I too am confused anyway, because he DID tell the boys he had a great date with Arabella.

So now he's lost Yewande (she's not into him anyway) and Arabella.

AliceRR · 23/06/2019 13:01

First Look: I feel like this is all a bit unfair on Danny. Suddenly he's the bad guy?

I thought this too

Y suddenly looks like the victim

Sagradafamiliar · 23/06/2019 13:07

It's no use being part of the problem and complicit and then pointing the finger at producers. We all play our part, society is ill, we need to address it. It's sad that it seems to be a given that signing up to these shows leaves you open to abuse and therefore that's just what you get. Sorry to come over all John Lennon on these threads but how about just...not being a dick.
I'm all for criticising people's behaviour but not demonising the contestants themselves. Time for some more legislation around trolling in this country (I know we can't afford to bang them up, in an ideal world custodial sentences should be a given though).

Whisky2014 · 23/06/2019 13:09

Well, I think it's a good start by refusing to watch it..

carmenbea · 23/06/2019 13:11

Just watched it too. FFS this is getting stupid. Now Danny is alienated to be the villain. Why is Michael saying he's a dick head they are all ganging up on him. Don't think will be able to watch much more of this BS

MoominMantra · 23/06/2019 13:11

Amy is good looking - it's her personality shining through that makes her less attractive than the other girls.

Yewande has brought this situation on herself and is now playing the victim. I don't see how any of this is Danny's fault tbh...

MoominMantra · 23/06/2019 13:12

Yes Michael is going to find his popularity going down the pan if he carries on with that narrative

Sagradafamiliar · 23/06/2019 13:13

I called it about Danny a few days ago. Played a blinder but he was always going to get found out and confronted. No games next time Danny boy.

Munhu · 23/06/2019 13:15

I don't see how any of this is Danny's fault tbh...

You don't see why it probably wasn't a good idea to tell each girl what they wanted to hear and then have one of them find out in quite an upsetting way that he's been quite negative about her behind her back?

GeriTe · 23/06/2019 13:15

Danny really hasn't done much wrong. Yewande treated him like crap and when a new girl came in she was all over him acting like a creep. He prefers arabella. Yewande should leave for her own sanity. I'm really fed up of alienation and bullying on this show used for entertainment

MoominMantra · 23/06/2019 13:18

I agree @GeriTe
