Yes MM was definitely having a tantrum but 'I'm going to stomp over and sit down aggressively on MY property' is on another level Hmm

TatianaLarina · 21/06/2019 22:58

For sure.

TatianaLarina · 21/06/2019 22:59

This was Yewande’s ‘snapped and farted’ moment.

rockingchaircandle · 21/06/2019 23:00

Yewande is awkward on the show, but I think because she's quite shy and doesn't know how to act up well like the others.
Danny's not been honest with her, and Arabella was very manipulative, was grinning as she said stuff she knew would hurt Yewande. Not as nice and relaxed as she's keen to seem.
Yewande isn't aggressive so far. She kept her cool and was very quietly letting off steam. I don't think LI is the place for her though and should leave for her own sake.

tessiegirl · 21/06/2019 23:01

I think arabella is a total bitch

Eaudear · 21/06/2019 23:01

Maura came in, said she was going for Tommy, the situation was almost identical and yet Yewande is being "insert standard black female stereotype here".

What 'black female stereotype' are you talking about here exactly? Hmm

Yewande is acting totally different to MM, even though it was a similar situation.

Littlehouse156 · 21/06/2019 23:05

I’m not sure if the producers do it on purpose but they make the women out to be insecure, needy basket cases at times.

BenWillbondsPants · 21/06/2019 23:06

I love Anton and Maura, they're both hilarious.

Gummybear11 · 21/06/2019 23:06

Arabella is definitely not innocent and trying to manipulate them but I can't help feel I couldn't resist doing the same in her position. It's just so obvious that Yewande wasn't into him and is now just marking her territory in a bizarre manner, and she's just miserable and not likeable. It's all probably quite an amusing game to Arabella Grin

rockingchaircandle · 21/06/2019 23:07

what stereotype?

There is a damaging, and obviously false, stereotype that paints black women as more aggressive, 'the angry black woman'.

So far, Yewande hasn't been aggressive. The plonking herself on Danny was clumsy and embarrassing but not aggressive.

Proteinshakesandtears · 21/06/2019 23:11

Planking herself on Danny wasnt aggressive.

Her behaviour in the kitchen was. In my opinion. But then I said I though MM was aggressive to Tommy.

RainbowPanda · 21/06/2019 23:12

I'm finding the producer edits for Amy interesting lately, but maybe I'm reading too much into it.

So initially I wouldn't have said she was a producer favourite, but ever since her family released that statement on social media we've not seen, from what I can remember, any negative edits of Amy. Even today... ok she had a strop which couldn't have been ignored because of the challenge, but it was followed up as being resolved quite quickly (although in real life it could have been hours of stropiness for all we know) and quickly followed up by a cringey date with her half boyfriend. All seems very set up in her favour, but why? Why is it in LI's interest to fix a favourite? If they are keen for Curtis to win and it's quite clear Amy is the public's least favourite, then wouldn't it be in LI's interest to split them because it puts him more at risk keeping them together?

So this has lead me to wonder if Amy's family have been involved. Could, in theory, a family threaten legal action against LI for something like defamation of character if they continued with the way they had been editing her? I just find it so coincidental she seems to have become a producer favourite around the same time as the family statement 🤷🏼‍♀️

hairchangenamechange · 21/06/2019 23:14

Totally agree Munhu.
That was a mean girl approach of Arabella, 'he said this and he's said that..' it was designed to provoke.**

Munhu · 21/06/2019 23:15

Yeah, Yewande is extremely awkward and socially inept in some situations but I'm not seeing where she's been aggressive or intimidating.

areyoubeingserviced · 21/06/2019 23:16

As another poster said Yewande was letting off steam rather than being aggressive.
She’s a better person than me, because if I had been Yewande, I would have blown my top .
I really am not impressed with Arabella
I

TatianaLarina · 21/06/2019 23:17

Well Ara probably wouldn’t have said it if Y had been honest with her rather than crowing it was going really well.

It was designed to force Danny’s hand. Ara is a grown up confident woman and she’s clearly decided she wants Danny and she’s going for it.

Gummybear11 · 21/06/2019 23:17

It's about individual personalities/actions/mannerisms. Race completely irrelevant and to be honest seems a bit racist to even bring it up.

BumandChips · 21/06/2019 23:18

Yewande stomping over to sit on Danny was just so cringeworthy.

‘I’m going to go and be affectionate’. Wtf is that about? If you have to think about being affectionate then you’re obviously with the wrong person.

tessiegirl · 21/06/2019 23:19

For Christ's sake. Yewande wasn't being aggressive! She is pissed off yes. I would act the same. She is confused as Danny is clearly telling her one thing and then bitch face arabella something else.

Gummybear11 · 21/06/2019 23:20

Aggressive doesn't necessarily mean intimidating/threatening violence. When I described her actions as aggressive I mean confrontational/belligerent.

areyoubeingserviced · 21/06/2019 23:20

Gummybear
I am a white, ‘ middle class’ woman.
However, even I know that race is not irrelevant in this case

Sagradafamiliar · 21/06/2019 23:20

So glad others are picking up on the negative comments about Yewande now. I was a lone voice for a while 😂
That was not aggression, it was frustration. Being bated by someone is frustrating. Interesting that Danny didn't go over to her after his date and also didn't go to see her after just being slagged off. Which was as a result of his bitching. He thinks he's in with Arabella now and is being smug.

TatianaLarina · 21/06/2019 23:21

He didn’t really tell her anything. I think he’s just waiting to see if she’s genuine which we know she’s not.

Gummybear11 · 21/06/2019 23:22

Why is race relevant in this case?

Hftgl · 21/06/2019 23:24

Danny reminds me of Kryton (sp?) from Red Dwarf
