The boobs. The eye patch.

But she looks so nervous - she’s almost panting. Why?

Sir Ian was so effortless with Madonna he treats everybody the same

TheBestNapIEverHad · 15/06/2019 08:54

She’s always been awkward on chat shows. She seems self conscious and uncomfortable in those situations.

The corset was ridiculous. But at least she’s stopped talking in the ‘British’ accent since she split up with what his name mockney guy.

I still love Madge, though.

Mrsjayy · 15/06/2019 08:58

I also love her in all her ridiculous bonkneres!

Mrsjayy · 15/06/2019 08:59

Oh yes Guy im a geezer Ritchie Grin

Etino · 15/06/2019 09:05

She often comes across as very nervous.

DougalsBlueJumper · 15/06/2019 10:19

I just happened to stop watching a recording and the TV switched to Graham Norton. I said to DP 'Who's that dressed up as Madonna? They look ridiculous.'

Oh ...

Yabbers · 15/06/2019 10:29

Sir Ian carries himself well and looks good for his age

How should an 80 year old man look then?

ComeOnGordon · 15/06/2019 10:38

I was disappointed that all the other good guests were overshadowed by her - she was rude to Graham and to Sir Ian but I think both of them dealt with her well. After all those years in show business she should be a professional at interviews and if she doesn’t want to do them then she’s also famous enough not to have to.
I also felt she couldn’t cope that not all the attention was on her - she made the whole programme after she came on uncomfortable.
And the corset - sack the stylist!!

Towelsareblue · 15/06/2019 10:40

She did kill the vibe somewhat! 😬

Abird747 · 15/06/2019 11:05

She all but ignored Lilly James, Himesh Patel and Danny Boyle. She only spoke to GN, Sir Ian McKellen and Sheryl Crow. Does she suffer from social anxiety or is she just incredibly ignorant?

ohdearmymistake · 15/06/2019 12:39

She did say that the corset was really tight it pushed her boobs up to her chin and restricted her breathing, it must have been really really tight she wanted to do the interview stood up.

I think the sitting posture was down to the corset, she couldn't have reached for her drink even if she had tried.

I don't know why she was telling Graham he was old, she's older than him.

Niquitic · 15/06/2019 13:29

She did reach to the table to put down her glass. She was just incredibly humourless/rude. In stark contrast to the other guests.

Lynn211cat · 15/06/2019 13:57

I think she's had so much surgery her mouth doesn't move properly, along with the rest of her face! I've always been a massive fan, and the new album isn't bad, however, she was just dreadful last night. Cringed through the show!

I think she needs to dress as a character because she doesn't enjoy these things and needs the mask.

However, the outfit was clearly going wrong and she was probably in physical agony - she kept leaning back to try to stop it digging in so much I think.

I like her. I think she's a great artist, but I feel sorry for her that she can't be more comfortable in her own skin.

northernstars · 15/06/2019 16:24

"I'm not used to sharing a couch" not a great start!

bluebellation · 15/06/2019 16:28

We turned off when she came on and said she wasn't used to sharing a couch. Awful woman.

DinosaursWouldEatYou · 15/06/2019 17:08

She's looked a mess- she's a very well known star and had a very long successful career, and I'm not even a Madonna fan!

I thought she was dressed like that because she was performing later....

But there's no need for the gimmicks, the eye patch looked silly, and when Sir Ian Mckellen came on she came across rather defensive.

Straight away do we know each other? I don't remember you.... just silly, and the little comments whilst he was trying to talk.

I dunno I think she needs to go back to basics and stop trying to keep up with the newest bout of entertainers. (This isn't an age discrimmination thing either!)

HouseOfMouse · 15/06/2019 17:39

I think the things that came across for me (leaving aside the terrible choice of outfit - in terms of comfort not age-appropriateness) were: (1) Madonna doesn’t appear to have any sense of humour at all - I’m sure she must do, but it is failing to translate. People would warm to her more if they could see this. (2) I don’t care how someone dresses at any age and am planning to go the disgraceful route myself BUT it seems that Madonna is really not comfortable with the ageing process (hence all the surgery / fillers), despite what she might say. She seemed oddly lacking in confidence or something, which is not what you’d expect. I think that, coupled with the rudeness, killed the atmosphere.

Roussette · 15/06/2019 20:26

I think she looked ridiculous, glad she isn't my mother! I'm older actually similar age and like to show a bit of cleavage. Subtly. A BIT. Not have them hanging out, there comes a point in your life when the 'edgy' look just is pathetic.

She took up too much of the show. She monopolised it, not her fault but still...there were other worthy guests and they were just side kicks.

SolitudeAtAltitude · 15/06/2019 21:32

She was panting, I could not watch, she seemed unwell. Had not thought it might be the corset...

Inkanta · 15/06/2019 21:55

She used to be so confident - sad to see her like that.

Sunshineonleith12 · 15/06/2019 22:03

She was tragic and seemed very fragile.

MadameXX · 15/06/2019 22:15

I am clearly brilliant and you don’t understand me.

CantspellWontspell · 15/06/2019 22:18

The contrast between her a Sheryl Crow was stark. They must be of a similar age but Sheryl looks comfortable in her skin, relaxed and warm whilst Madonna just seemed utterly... I don’t know... detached from her body, from the interview, from reality. Weird.

She was breathless at Eurovision as well. You would have thought a performer of her experience would make costume adjustments if it was impeding her performance.

She’s always been aloof mind. And never remembers who people are. Thank God Graham is such a seasoned interviewer because that could have been seven magnitudes of awkward greater than it was.
