This series is really dull so far, eh? My opinions haven't changed since the beginning; still like all the girls. Really deeply dislike Joe, I don't know how Lucy tolerates him, so creepy and possessive. The rest of the boys don't really invoke any emotion, good or bad. Just boring

I think DustOffYourHighestHopes gave a really balanced explanation or why the title is a problem - it didn’t particularly occur to me but having it pointed out made me reconsider and I agree it should be changed.

Attacking someone for pointing out where there’s a problem and describing it as being whiny/butt hurt is really not called for I don’t think.

I’ve been lurking on the threads and enjoying them but the title isn’t actually funny and the comedian you’d be paying to see there would be Jim Davidson if that’s your style of humour. There is some centre ground between ‘racism is hilarious!’ and ‘humourless, stony faced whiner’. There is loads to laugh at in Love Island - it doesn’t take away from anyone’s enjoyment to drop the references to Tommy’s traveller background. I think the thread title is pretty shocking.

Yeah, I agree about the thread title tbh. The orlriginal joke was funny but kind of close to the bone, and it's not really necessary to keep it going. The original joke was enough!

That was kind of my point, mumto2babyboys, that making jokes about travellers is old fashioned; it’s that kind of 70s humour that’s just unpleasant. I’d be careful emulating Frankie Boyle’s humour as it’s likely that people copying that kind of joke in their general conversation will come off as just racist/sexist etc. It’s slightly different dropping that kind of comment into a conversation or a thread to doing a whole set of it in context. Anyway, I am sorry to be derailing - just think the title should definitely be changed so we can all enjoy the LI gossip.

I’m not sure about Amy at all. She seems totally self absorbed. Having a strop about Joe and Lucie going exclusive as ‘stealing her moment’. Really?!
Even the next day after her last strop she’s remembering it differently to how it was.

Honestly just leave it. Someone made a joke on the last thread which was, IMO quite funny, but did rely on the stereotype of travellers and caravans. I think they got away with it because it was taking the piss out of the patriarchal nature of that community and the fact that Tommy seems to embody that so well.

But, like all the best jokes, it should have been left where it was, as it was. Bringing it over onto the next thread just wasn't necessary, especially as the thread title isn't even funny in any way (get in the caravan?)

Anyway, hopefully it will be changed soon.

every time tommy stares at Maura... Curtis is trying to stop himself from crying but inside he is heartbroken.

Wonder if he offers tommy another 'massage/straddling' session soon!
