The Handmaid's Tale S3: Channel 4 pace * NO SPOILERS *

There are a couple of other threads about Season 3 of The Handmaid's Tale. Both of these threads include people who have already watched the first few episodes through streaming services.

Is there anyone else who will be watching it on Channel 4? The first episode will be shown at 9pm on Sunday 9 June.

I'd really like to have a thread where we can discuss it at the pace it's shown on Channel 4.

Are people happy for this thread to include discussion about S03E01 as it unfolds on Channel 4 this evening?

Or would you rather start a new thread for S03E01?

Sorry, I jumped the gun and have started a thread for series 3 episode 1 here.

TheFirstOHN · 09/06/2019 20:15

OriginofSpecies that's fine, and your thread title makes it clear that the new thread is for Episode 1, which is good.

I just discovered The Handmaid's Tale recently and am almost at the end of season 1. Have also downloaded book to read on holiday in a couple of weeks. Will look forward to joining this thread properly once I've binge watched season 2 and caught up on channel 4, which I'm recording! Finding it all quite disturbing but have to keep watching! Is season 2 just as harrowing?

jigsawmaniac · 09/06/2019 20:25

Oh and I'm only reading this thread till 9pm so I don't spoil it for myself and then I'll jump back in in a couple of weeks!

Bit unsure which thread pp will be posting on tonight, this or the new one?

MoobaaMoobaa · 09/06/2019 21:16

how did they know she was there?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/06/2019 21:22

My bastard TV service has gone down and isn't recording the episode so I've missed the first 20 minutes. Angry

MelanieCheeks · 09/06/2019 21:30

Stronger solidarity between hand maids and wives, I think.

TheFirstOHN · 09/06/2019 21:49

Popping over in the advert break to say that most of us are discussing Episode 1 over here

Thank you TheFirst :)

Good as it seems to be, I hope that this series is the last. It would be a shame to make this an ongoing epic.

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 10/06/2019 14:19

I agree @CruCru

Great first episode.

Soo pleased that Emily managed to get to Canada.

June's punishments seemed quite lenient? Are things becoming less harsh in Gilead?

beanaseireann · 22/06/2019 15:31

How many episodes of S3 on Channel 4 so far ?

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 22/06/2019 18:54

2

beanaseireann · 22/06/2019 20:03

Thank you

morehen · 23/06/2019 22:20

Anyone see tonight?

beanaseireann · 24/06/2019 08:59

I did, but am watching it on RTE in Ireland- we are a couple of days ahead of Channel 4.
