Hail survivors of The Battle of Winterfell.

The 'mysterious' episode 4 premieres tonight.

Who will be with us at 2am?

I am desperate to find out if Arya's kill is openly discussed and acknowledged, or does Bran take the credit, or does it remain a mystery.

Given Emilia Clarke has said Episode 5 is the one for which we will need 'bigger television screens' what will lead up to it?

I think it was the Dothraki that had a fear of water and couldn't swim, not Unsullied.

RJnomore1 · 06/05/2019 14:28

I love Dany, I love Arya, I ducking detest Sansa and this episode just cemented all of that .

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 06/05/2019 14:29

I've just watched it again and I think Jaime is going to kill Cersei to atone for everything else he's done. He knows he has more chance of getting close to her than anyone else. He didn't want Brienne coming after him, or mourning him.

Someone on Reddit suggested that he'll throw the two of them off a high tower in the Red Keep to their death. That would be the perfect end to their story.

I don't like Danaerys at this stage, but I do feel very sorry for her. She's starting to feel how Viserys felt; alone in a strange country, with no-one she really trusts, watching someone else get within reach of what she thinks is hers.

It's funny, though, until Viserys died, she had never thought of having the throne herself. It feels as if she's forgotten she wasn't always first in line.

yumyumpoppycat · 06/05/2019 14:31

I wonder if qyburn has done some kind of weird ivf or something on cersei.

I enjoyed watching that episode , but agree it doesn't take too much thinking about as there were annoying aspects. Why didn't dany fire at euron - it seemed like she was close enough at the end before she swerved off.

I don't think the other dragon is dead and I think that Jon will ride it and have the benefit of surprise for an attack.

Not sure what to make of Jamie - I felt sure he was a goody and was going to kill cersei and himself, there is a small niggle wondering if he has been spying. Could someone have been spying and sending messages to cersei?

Why did tyrion tell varys about Jon's parents- I feel like he would have kept it too himself a bit longer if he is so pro dany,

TheweewitchRoz · 06/05/2019 14:32

I still really like Dany - I'm not sure where all the hate or signs of madness are coming from. Do the books hint at that more or am I just not as insightful as you all watching the show?

weaselwords · 06/05/2019 14:34

So, Cersei is a queen, who has 3 children who all die. Danaerys is a queen who has 3 children... You see where I’m going with this.

Xyzzzzz · 06/05/2019 14:34

I really like Dany too and if they make her the mad queen I’ll be disappointed. This whole season feels a bit rushed...maybe it’s me?

yumyumpoppycat · 06/05/2019 14:35

utterly - I put Jamie throwing himself and cersei off a tower on another thread before episode 3 as part of my ideal game of thrones endings. Maybe it's too on the nose!

yumyumpoppycat · 06/05/2019 14:39

In the books there were some signs Dany was making poor political decisions from what I can remember, she is supposed to be very young I think that is the reason rather than going mad but I am not 100% sure. I hope she turns it all around and does turn out to be a strong and just female ruler, but it seems unlikely as then what was the point of Jon snow?

AliceRR · 06/05/2019 14:40

I used to really like Dany and she seemed to genuinely want to do good. Now she comes across as very power hungry and calculated. Even when she first met John and kept urging him to “bend the knee”. I just thought “get over yourself” 🙄

And the way she spoke to him today when she didn’t want him to tell his sisters who he really was...

Just my opinion - sounds like a lot of you still like her

Xyzzzzz · 06/05/2019 14:45

I think all she has is the claim to the throne. She has no family, she lost Jorah, doesn’t really rate Tyrion atm. Jon has all his family (starks) I guess she doesn’t understand what that means. All she has is her dragons and has now lost another one.

DeadWife · 06/05/2019 14:47

The Targaryen bloodline has madness in it due to heavy inbreeding. Doesn't mean Dany would necessarily have it . Jon could have it also.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 06/05/2019 15:03

Did anyone else think that Arya's 'That's not me' to Gendry echoed her 'That's not you' to Nymeria?

I am now hedging towards Arya off and wandering, Sansa as the Lady of the North and Jon beyond the wall as the ending. Not sure about Bran.

Dany on the throne with Varys sitting by her, and someone - not sure who, but someone - plotting her downfall...

SweetSummerchild · 06/05/2019 15:11

Did anyone else think that Arya's 'That's not me' to Gendry echoed her 'That's not you' to Nymeria?

That is all a callback to book 1/season 1 when Ned tells Arya her destiny is to marry a lord and run an estate and she says “That’s Sansa, taht’s not me”.

Cottonwoolmouth · 06/05/2019 15:12

I still like her! I think she is just at the end of her patience. Fuck she traveled across the world, freeing slaves, setting fire to herself - twice to earn the trust and respect of her followers - who were hard as nails. Then she helps out Jon, most of her army has been slaughtered, two of her dragons are dead so it must be a kick in the tits to see all the men congratulate themselves and be told that ‘oh yeah - you can wait to do the very thing your here for now we’ve used you’

(Obviously paraphrasing) Grin

I hope we see pysco Danny now.

Cottonwoolmouth · 06/05/2019 15:13

In fact I’m swinging to team Danny. Probably the only one here Grin

She’s earned that throne!

RJnomore1 · 06/05/2019 15:21

Guys - the drinking game. Thats pod sitting next to Brienne at the table isn’t it?

When they say drink if you’re a virgin he drinks.

So what happened in that whorehouse forever ago when they paid him????

MyOtherProfile · 06/05/2019 15:22

Did anyone else think that Arya's 'That's not me' to Gendry echoed her 'That's not you' to Nymeria

No because I don't remember her saying that to Nymeria. What was the context of that?

JasperRising · 06/05/2019 15:30

MyOtherProfile at the start of season 7 she runs into Nymeria and her wolf pack and says the line in relation to Nymeria not coming back to being her pet at Winterfell.

MyOtherProfile · 06/05/2019 15:35

Oh thank you

JasperRising · 06/05/2019 15:40

Xyzzzzz I agree about the rushed pacing. In the early seasons, Tyrion and Varys potentially betraying Dany would have been gradually developed over a season not in an episode or two. I think it is one of the noticeable changes once they moved on from the book material.

I felt sorry for Dany (not one of my favourites) at the feast. I think she began to realise that just because she believed she was the true heir doesn't mean people who don't know her will welcome her with open arms.

I like Brienne and Jaimie storyline. She believed that he had some goodness in him and he took that away from her. He maybe thought he had found redemption/escaped his past and now realises he hasn't. I genuinely don't know if I think he is going to rejoin Cersei or kill her/try to kill her.

Missandei dying didn't surprise me (though I expected it last week). Her chat with Grey worm about going home and her people being peaceful too obviously set up a storyline where he goes to Naath after her death to defend her people as she has wanted.

I genuinely don't know who I think is going to end up on the iron throne and who will die so I guess they are doing a good job with the suspense still.

The whole hand wringing over killing innocents is annoying me now though. Jon (and Dany) have access to an assassin whose skill has been proven. Yet noone seems to have suggested sending Arya in to take out Cersei and Euron during the battle and before the whole population is burnt. Even though most people now know about her list of names she wants to kill and that Cersei is on it.

I did like Varys' line that once 8 people know about Jon it is information not a secret. Back on spying form after a few seasons... And back on serving the realm which had also fallen by the wayside.

AliceRR · 06/05/2019 15:40

What do we think about John and Dany having a baby? She’s said she cannot have children but there’s been a lot of talk of them having a baby so there must be some kind of twist 🤔

Lellochip · 06/05/2019 15:45

Guys - the drinking game. Thats pod sitting next to Brienne at the table isn’t it? When they say drink if you’re a virgin he drinks

I think it was only Brienne he was asking, and poor Pod was just embarrassed? Even I thought it wasn't a very appropriate question for a highborn lady 😄

MarianneM · 06/05/2019 15:48

“Any lady would be lucky to have you. But I’m not a lady. I never have been. That’s not me.”

Is it just me thinking that it isn't actually Arya at all, but the Waif or the Many-Faced God?

Yes I see this & if she does end up lighting up KL I can kinda see why. If it was me I’d be pissed.

N.B I don’t think I could kill innocent kids though.
