Hail survivors of The Battle of Winterfell.

The 'mysterious' episode 4 premieres tonight.

Who will be with us at 2am?

I am desperate to find out if Arya's kill is openly discussed and acknowledged, or does Bran take the credit, or does it remain a mystery.

Given Emilia Clarke has said Episode 5 is the one for which we will need 'bigger television screens' what will lead up to it?

Sansa should run a mile if they try that!! if you treat your direwolf like that it's a massive red flag for marriage!! So I'm still not over ghost it's seems!!

PreseaCombatir · 08/05/2019 22:04

I’ll never be over Ghost.
That has actually really sullied the series for me...

Leontine · 08/05/2019 22:11

@presea I love it that they tried to justify it by saying that they thought it would be more powerful if he just ignored him whilst also admitting that as Ghost is now completely CGI it would have been difficult to have Jon interact with him.....so they just couldn’t be arsed then.

Never trust anyone who mistreats animals or doesn’t even clean and sort out their half an ear after YOU sent them out with the Vanguard.

I hope Tyrion shoots you with the Bronn arrow like he did with his father when he sent him out with the vanguard

You were one of my favourites till now, even after you didn’t listen to Sansa twice!

itswinetime · 08/05/2019 22:39

Ghost is now completely CGI it would have been difficult to have Jon interact with him..

Yet Danny's dragons are real so their easyWink Even their excuse are poor.

Agreed I have always liked John but this season is (mainly for ghost!) I'm not bothered about how his character ends at all it's a shame!

iklboo · 08/05/2019 22:42

You know, thinking about it. Of all of them I'd like to settle with Ser Davos. I bet he'd appreciate the love of a good woman.

OrianaBanana · 08/05/2019 22:42

Wonder where they got all the completely non-CGIed decomposing extras they were all killing interacting with then?

Half an ear fighting armies of dead guys Sad off you go then

TheLastNigel · 08/05/2019 22:43

Must not google for leaks, must not google for bloody leaks...😑

TheLastNigel · 08/05/2019 22:47

And actually I agree with pp who said that about Jons treatment of Ghost putting a dampener on the whole thing... I'm really that pissed off by it that I feel the same....lazy writing that...or maybe bad acting in that what was meant to be portrayed as Jon being too sad for a proper goodbye actually came across as Jon with all the emotion of a plank of wood.

itswinetime · 08/05/2019 22:54

It's doesn't help the hyped ghost up this season and he did nothing (that we saw) maybe it's all on the cutting room flaw but why promise and then not deliver.

Then just have him pushed aside without a proper goodbye. And I still not get why his within tormund instead of at winterfell with Sansa like you say maybe it's acting maybe it's writing but if you can't even get moments like that right.....

ClashCityRocker · 08/05/2019 22:56

Finally caught up! I quite enjoyed that episode.

Didn't like the Brienne/Jaime bit. I just didn't think they had that level of relationship. Didn't mind her crying over him going too much, whether that be for him or because he was leaving her. I think she has got a sensitive, romantic streak beneath her crusty exterior.

Sansa I agree has had one of the most interesting story arcs. I really liked her conversation with the Hound. As a character, I can't warm to her - she seems quite cold, although that is unsurprising given what she's been through. I previously felt that she was most put out by Jon being hailed as Lord of winterfell and King in the North. Certainly earlier on (although this may have been more in the books) she seemed to look down on him. Now I think she finds him frustrating - he doesn't listen, ends up in shit and someone else has to save his arse and he still gets all the credit.

I do think male characters get an easy ride in terms of redemption. I mean, Jaime has done some heinous things but a lot of fans are still rooting for him. Sansa has been through hell and back and has, at worse, been foolish and naive in the earlier seasons.

In fact, thinking about it, up until Joffrey died (and maybe slightly after... When did she go totally crazy?) cersei was practically a Saint compared to Jaime, and in some ways quite a sympathetic character.

JasperRising · 08/05/2019 23:17

Thanks to a pp for the confirmation about Alys Karstark. I couldn't see how she had survived the godswood when Theon was the only one left standing but then they didn't show her body on the ground or on the pyres next episode...

JasperRising · 08/05/2019 23:18

For all the Ghost fans (hope this attached, never done pics before)

jinglebitch · 09/05/2019 06:18

Clashcity I completely agree...I mean yes, Cersei was unfaithful in her marriage, but she was married to a man who told her he'd never love her and shagged about left right and centre (c.f. Gendry!) And then, yes, she hates Tyrion, but he did kill her father, who was always quite nice to her, so she liked him. And every other thing she did was for her children. She's just the uber tiger mom.
I adore Brienne, but I don't think she and Jamie could ever be happy growing old together ....so they'd just die in battle side by side- I'd rather see them alive and apart!
Can we see and of them growing old contentedly? Tyrion and Sansa?( are they officially still married? Did she get divorced before she married Ramsey or was it bigamy?)

fancynancyclancy · 09/05/2019 06:41

The season is definitely too rushed, so was the last one. I read though that they needed to wrap it quick because it’s so expensive; CGI, actors salaries increases etc. Plus the main characters are getting older & the actors themselves are in demand & want to do other things. I don’t know how true that is?

Just don’t get the lack of Ghost though, he’s not even that big. Surely they could have found a trained wolf? or had a Great Pyrenees as a stand in, my neighbour had one & they are huge.

Tyrion and Sansa?( are they officially still married? Did she get divorced before she married Ramsey or was it bigamy?)

I don’t remember any official annulment on the show, but her marriage to Ramsey was not carried out in accordance with the faith of the seven, so that may be the excuse.

I hope Tyrion and Sansa don’t re-marry. I have nothing against show Tyrion (apart from his lack of brains) but they are both main characters. If they marry in the show then I think that indicates that they will in the books as well and I really wouldn’t want Sansa married to book Tyrion. Aside from murdering Shae, he participated in the gang-rape of his first wife and then went on to rape an unwilling slave-whore in Volantis (after first throwing up all over her).

OrianaBanana · 09/05/2019 07:40

Sansa and Tyrion’s marriage was never consummated, so could be easily annulled (but hasn’t been so far). Alternatively if they had a shag they’d be married.

The Bolton marriage was bigamous and unofficial (and he’s dead now anyway).

SweetSummerchild · 09/05/2019 07:48

I have a really great prediction. This is not based on any leaks, so I’m not spoiling anything.

Final episode, cut to a scene of Tyrion on his own. Bronn comes in and there is a discussion which ends in Tyrion basically saying he can’t give Highgarden to Bronn. Bronn shoots Tyrion with the crossbow.

That would be so good to watch.

IhateBoswell · 09/05/2019 08:00

Reminded me a little of 'Road to Perdition'. I hope it doesn't happen, but surely Bronn is going to have to do something horrible in the last two episodes, otherwise what was the point in his scene with Tyrion & Jaime?

CaptainBrickbeard · 09/05/2019 08:03

Cersei wasn’t in line for sainthood any time soon - she doesn’t push Bran herself but flares at Jaime repeating ‘he saw us’ - she clearly means ‘push him!’

She has Lady killed in revenge for Joffrey’s humiliation by the riverbank.

She is sleeping with that Lannister boy (who comes back a Sparrow), treats him horribly and uses him to get Robert drunk so he will die on the hunt.

She doesn’t directly do any of the killing but she masterminds!

StarbucksSmarterSister · 09/05/2019 08:06

,she hates Tyrion, but he did kill her father, who was always quite nice to her

She's always hated Tyrion because she blames him for their mother's death and Tywin wasn't nice to her. Don't you remember him that scene where he's bullying her into marrying Loris (ok it didn't happen but he wanted it to)? He actually treated all his children with contempt, even Jaime.

SweetSummerchild · 09/05/2019 08:14

surely Bronn is going to have to do something horrible in the last two episodes

Bronn has been portrayed as some sort of honourable, loveable rogue in the show. In the book he’s an absolute arse. I really hope they do something horrible with him in the show.

agirlhasnonameX · 09/05/2019 08:15

I was confused about why the Mountain didn't kill Tyrion last season when he was treating with Cersei. He must have made some deal with her, but it's all pointless now anyway that she didn't keep up with her end of the bargain? It doesn't really make sense that she doesn't actually want to kill him, considering all the heads she had brought to her hoping they where him and then sending Bronn after him.

The reason I thought maybe Bronn was doing something more in winterfell is a hopeful one tbh, but since we don't see him leaving with anyone I guess it could be possible. Or is he just going to stay in winterfell? Maybe Brienne will kill him.

Sorry if I'm repeating things from further upthread, I seen "leaks for next weeks episode" and missed a bunch of posts incase it was being discussed? Hate them.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 09/05/2019 08:25

CaptainBrickbeard totally. It's been said more than once that her only redeeming feature is her love for her children. She instigates plenty of the bad things Jaime does, although of course he shouldn't do them. That's not even mentioning some of her other stuff, like blowing up the Sept and presumably thousands of innocent bystanders .

If Dany is "the mad Queen", what is Cersei?
