Hail survivors of The Battle of Winterfell.

The 'mysterious' episode 4 premieres tonight.

Who will be with us at 2am?

I am desperate to find out if Arya's kill is openly discussed and acknowledged, or does Bran take the credit, or does it remain a mystery.

Given Emilia Clarke has said Episode 5 is the one for which we will need 'bigger television screens' what will lead up to it?

I haven't read the books but why do you want / think Sam should / will take out a dragon?

xsquared · 06/05/2019 17:26

Yara hasn't been seen for a while and Gemma Whelan mentioned in her instagram that Yara had some "big news".

ElenadeClermont · 06/05/2019 17:34

In the show Sam was very upset about his family being burnt alive.

In the books Sam is learning about dragons and there is a recurring theme of Jon telling him to practise his archery.

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/05/2019 17:37

@xsquared I think that was just a joke as Gemma was pictured breastfeeding her baby.

SweetSummerchild · 06/05/2019 17:37

In the show Sam was very upset about his family being burnt alive.

I think that plot point was served by Sam telling Jon about his claim to the throne. Now that information is in the most damaging hands possible (Tyrion/Varys) so Sam’s involvement is somewhat surplus to requirements.

ElenadeClermont · 06/05/2019 17:37

Also Euron killing Rhaegal is unlikely in the books, as he wants a dragon alive. He has a dragonbinding horn.

millythepink · 06/05/2019 17:38

If you think back, Jaime has never said he has stopped loving Cersei. He left her to go North because he had given his oath that he would NOT because he had fallen out of love with his sister. I think he shagged Brienne partly out of relief he was still alive, partly because of the beer and partly because he genuinely admires her. But I have never thought he was in love with her.

I think Jon will end up walking away from the Iron Throne to return to the 'true North' and thereby staying true to himself. GRR Martin said that the fates of the Starks and their direwolves are on and the same. So:

Greywind & Robb both murdered and beheaded.

Shaggydog & Rickon both dead.

Numerous & Arya both turned their backs on civilised lives (one as a pampered pet, the other as a pampered high born lady) and have turned feral, roaming free.

Sansa & Lady, both killed. As in, Sansa's pampered life as a 'little bird' ended and she has been reborn as a totally different person. In the books Sansa 'dies' when Littlefinger forces her to assume a new identity as his bastard daughter.

Finally Jon & Ghost, both return to the true North where they both belong. Jon will reunite with Ghost and Tormund beyond the Wall, and he will disappear into obscurity just like Master Aemon Targaryen, choosing peace of mind over power & glory.

OrianaBanana · 06/05/2019 17:38

I reckon Arya will take on the face of Jamie or one of her dead children.

I think you have to kill someone and cut off their face in order to be able to wear it?

ElenadeClermont · 06/05/2019 17:41

I have read the leaks. I love them, they are so confusing. Most characters either die or live. We knew that by now.

You are right SweetSummerchild, Sam has finished. Hopefully his wildling son will be a pain in the backside for his liege, Lord Bronn.

itswinetime · 06/05/2019 17:42

There are more leaks? Or are we still talking about the episode 4 ones?

MyOtherProfile · 06/05/2019 17:43

Most characters either die or live.

Won't all characters either die or live? Grin

xsquared · 06/05/2019 17:44

Queenofandals ah yes, should have paid more attention and realised she was just teasing. Still, I think Yara needs to have a "saves the day " moment like Sansa, Arya and Dany have.

SweetSummerchild · 06/05/2019 17:51

Hopefully his wildling son will be a pain in the backside for his liege, Lord Bronn.

I love it!

SweetSummerchild · 06/05/2019 17:55

I have read loads of ‘leaks’. Many are really predictable - such as Cleganebowl will happen. However, some sources say the Hound will live and some say he will die.

I guess he’s Schrodinger’s dog now.

AliceRR · 06/05/2019 17:57

xsquared

AliceRR yes, Viseripn and Rhaegal. She refers to them as her children.

I know she calls the dragons her children but she’s lost a baby too

xsquared · 06/05/2019 18:05

AliceRR Rhaego from series 1? So that would make it 3 of her children. IIRC did she make some comment about watching her child die when Rhaegal fell?

Anyway, I am feeling ambivalent about Dany, as she is very much alone now which is contributing to her descent into madness.

LazyFace · 06/05/2019 18:08

Cersei's prophecy in the film was that she'll be queen until a younger, more beautiful one comes along... and I just hope it won't be Sansa who was really keen to become queen (and has turned a lot more like Cersei to me).

Prequelle · 06/05/2019 18:17

The leaks I've read have had everything exactly right so far. Anyone on Reddit, it's on the alternate GoT sub.

MyOtherProfile · 06/05/2019 18:19

Can you link to that @Prequelle ?

DeadWife · 06/05/2019 18:24

Why would you want to know the leaks? It's like jumping ahead to read the end of a book - what's the point?

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/05/2019 18:24

Cersei assumed Margery would be the younger queen of the prophecy but has now probably realised its Dany. Does the TV series not have the brother prediction then? It's been a while and I can't remember!

MyOtherProfile · 06/05/2019 18:39

@DeadWife because we are all different. I enjoy the journey more than the end product. Books and shows aren't all about the ending. Funnily enough I generally read the last page of a book well before I get there too. Don't judge.

DeadWife · 06/05/2019 18:46

Not judging at all myOtherProfile. Confused. And that's exactly what I mean - it's not all about the ending, totally. Defeats the object to me and I would far rather extend the mystery.

ElenadeClermont · 06/05/2019 18:46

I would not read book spoilers, but the show is not so close to my heart. They are not very well-drawn characters.
I know it is stupid, because the show is partial spolier for the books. Confused
I have also read all the sample chapters. Confused

MyOtherProfile · 06/05/2019 18:52

But I'm not that fussed about the ending so not bothered about keeping the mystery. I'm more interested in how people relate and develop and how the story is told. Sometimes I like to know the end so I can see how well it's all unfolding.
