Does anyone know when this will be aired? Last year it said expected first week of May but can’t find it. Paranoid I’ll miss it, I love that series

And does anyone know what happened to Child of Our Time and Born to be special (not sure that was the name)? Are they still going?

Thanks!

I think where there has been evidence of social mobility it's through their offspring. Gobby Jackie, who rightly pulled Michael Apted up for his boyfriend questioning, is determined her granddaughter will go to university, the one who went to Australia from being in care had one child who went to university. None of the boarding boys sent their kids to boarding school. They've all moved to the middle a bit. It's not inconceivable that their grandchildren or great grandchildren could be sat next to each other in the same lecture theatre.

Their grandparents likely thought the same about them.

@mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork he did ask Tony about Brexit

Yes, I know - I was responding to this comment below by earlier poster (and failed to make that clear in my post!):
I thought Tony was kind of set-up to talk about Brexit

LoafofSellotape · 10/06/2019 13:43

Dh and I binge watched it last night, some bits were very sad, weren't they?

Wrt Neil, I think it's very easy to blame someone's up bringing for their poor MH but he did say he has chosen not to take medication and there is only so far you can be supportive when someone refuses medical help.

LoafofSellotape · 10/06/2019 14:08

Did Lynne die from sepsis? I got confused with them saying she needed to be hydrated ,it all sounded like it happened very fast.

Quintella · 10/06/2019 14:10

It sounded like she was hit by a swing in a playground? I assumed an embolism or something like that.

LoafofSellotape · 10/06/2019 14:18

They were talking about blood poisoning. It wasn't clear at all.

Mustbetimeforachange · 10/06/2019 14:33

Isn't blood poisoning what sepsis used to be known as? Poor lady :(

LoafofSellotape · 10/06/2019 14:48

What was Tony's daughter's 'problems?'

CaptainMyCaptain · 10/06/2019 14:50

Thy never specified what Tony's daughter's problems were. I assumed MH or drugs.

GiantKitten · 10/06/2019 18:55

Something that prevented her being able to raise her daughter herself. None of our business. Looks as if her family is doing a great job in lieu Smile .

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/06/2019 20:51

I'm glad that they didn't specify Tony's daughter's situation. It was relevant to his story to explain that they had brought up another child as their own but quite right not to go further.

Just caught up with Paul and symonds stories, so very sad, he continued in a home in Australia 😔 but seems to have a lovely life now

Xenia · 11/06/2019 20:59

Fr some reason I watched ep 2 and 3 and only just now 1. The man on 1 who is very ill (the clever one who went to the US and lectures) - that was very sad. he has always had some of the more interesting answers.

The taxi driver is on warfarin and doesn't look as healthy as last time but still bouncy and same personality as in 1964.

beanaseireann · 26/06/2019 18:21

Neil was such a beautiful little boy, both in looks and character. How sad his life became. Has he siblings ?

beanaseireann · 26/06/2019 18:26

I just read the Guardian article on Neill.
Lovely to read that Bruce was kind and helped Neill.

fussychica · 26/06/2019 18:55

Neil has a brother, if I remember correctly.
