A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the Kdrama-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, but there other sources, including Dramabus and AmazonPrime.

We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, film and kpop when the mood takes us. To get to grips with the lingo, try dramaloveaddicts.proboards.com/thread/24/korean-word-day?page=1

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but usually only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

🤣🤣 I quite agree!! Only half way through so prob a few angsty moments to go, plus solving the mystery of the artist. Loving it though!
Looking forward to Abyss starting on the 6th 👍

I hadn’t appreciated the Abyss ML is the dojo guy (2ML) from Her Private Life. The pairing of him (man mountain) with tiny chestnut Bong Soon lady is slightly mad but intriguing.

It’s Ahn Byo Hun in HPL and Ahn Byo Seop in Abyss 🤣🤣 Given the filming schedules it would be well ugh impossible to be in both lol!!!

I've been very skippety and watched the last episode of Missing 9 as I was getting frustrated with not knowing how it would turn out, but now I know I am watching the rest and enjoying JHK V MUCH. He has climbed the oppas ranking (I know I know I'm taking this far too seriously) and pushed out CJH from the top 5

Anyone else having trouble with Viki at the mo? The subtitles seem to have dropped off the two shows I’m watching, despite being on in the settings.

Yes! Viki driving me mad! Subtitles are not appearing! Even though settings are right! Subtitles appear on my mobile but not when I cast to the telly! Glad it's not just me!!...

Might give Black a go then... But I might catch up on are you human! I really like are you human... But I don't like watching it on my phone! So wish it was on netflix or viki!

I'm on dramafast at the mo but just went on to Viki to have a look and got a service unavailable page but then it worked.

Tested subs on start of ep 8 of HPL & they were working but I've got to say.....when the camera pans right when KJW kisses Curator Seong there is the most HIDEOUS painting of Is An Grin

It is, though there are a couple of commercials sometimes which are like the ones you sometimes get on local tv stations (ie for companies you've never heard of with a small budget)

No, but I am thwarted by both house guests and the lack of subtitles at the mo. Am hoping Viki rights itself overnight so I can watch the last few episodes this weekend.

Viki subs are back! Well, on Heartless City at least.

I watched the first episode of Missing Nine last night. Does it get going after the crash? It felt like there was a lot of set-up in ep 1.

Missing NIne has become a little bit repetitive (just how many times can the killer pop up & threaten them?) but I’m quite relaxed about it now that I’ve watched the last 10 minutes 😆

It does but it is an oddly paced drama. I am just watching it for JKH, and it does have its moments.
