We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but usually only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

I will say two things....

1. that is the most shameless shower scene, shameless
2. I'm not a fan of Baggy Trousers (always sung Madness style) even though KJW can carry them off

Agree about the utterly shameless shower scene, though there was much to commend it. I imagine it’s really great to have a scene like that in the can that you watch and reminisce fondly over when you’re a wrinkly oldster. I can live with such a considered appraisal of the male form. I still find it strange, as I am so used to the female form being leched over in western telly to the detriment of tge female gaze. Thumbs up chaps!

So mean!! I know ep 8 is too soon for them to get together but honestly, if it weren’t for that artist with her big shoulder pads they’d be sorted by now!

The kiss/not kiss thing is clever -satisfy/don’t satisfy the show’s fans.

After the lingering eye contact at the fan sign and the kind words previously, do we think a detour down Si An Road is on the cards?

I managed to finish ep 15 of Heartless City over breakfast. There’s a good penny drop moment for the lead detective at the end and the preview signals a particularly good plot turn. It is pretty dark and unrelenting, but JKH does these kind of nuanced, conflicted roles brilliiantly so it’s worth it.

I need to master his impassive, inscrutable meeting face. When the chips are down, he gives nothing away.

I am finding JKH very endearing in Missing Nine which is an oddball drama. He is firmly in my top 5 .

As is KJW of course, I rewatched the end bit of ep 8 this morning, and the bit where she pulls her hand out of his,.....awww

But I cheered myself up watching the vid in this article on the making of that episode

KJW impresses me more & more too.

I'm not sure about a detour down Cha Si An road, I think she is more keen on KJW - as you would be!

I’d say that’s 100% likely.

The short ‘making of’ video was also adorable. KJW and Park Min Young would make beautiful babies, if they were so inclined.

Oh ep 5 has got it all!!

Hmm yes I can think of at least 3 instances where there may be glaring on the venn between boatyard and myself however you can have So Ji Sub in the tub with his nice hands all to yourself as he isn’t on my list

The centre of the venn diagramme is a one off I think! 😍

I tried to watch Empress Ki for JCW and found that I have limits - I turned off after about 25 min. I have no idea how you both got through Hwarang - it was bonkers and not in a good way (IMHO).
