We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, film and kpop when the mood takes us. To get to grips with the lingo, try dramaloveaddicts.proboards.com/thread/24/korean-word-day?page=1

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but usually only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

Am in a country cottage so have just watched Antique Bakery with a glass of rose sitting in the open porch while it tips down with rain outside. Bliss.

It's going to have to be an episode of The Guest tonight.

I do like Korean films, it's like watching a 16 ep drama in just under 2 hours

Yes I think so, the quality was very poor on the version I saw. You know me though, I'll even watch without subs. I was trying to download a version from amazon.com but it wouldn't let me on a UK credit card. I am going to have to rewatch bits on Youtube, I could barely see the clips in the gay night club

It's v enjoyable, I think cost-per-view will work out favourably

Youtube has been throwing all sorts of random HH KJW stuff up, including clips of him singing on stage shirtless - way hotter than Iggy - and in one clip just in a pair of leather look boxers (poss from a musical called Hedwig). There's a DVD set called Kim Jae Wook: The Moment which features his life as an actor, musician & model. He seems very comfortable in his skin and this could be due to his years as a model ie wandering around in his pants being prodded and photographed from every angle.

No subs on the DVD so am mostly guessing

I am going to retract what I said about him seeming reserved upthread, unless he is the most gifted actor on the planet. He’s clearly comfortable in his own skin and not afraid to perform. I do think it was interesting that he chose to respond to the viewer comment about his acting/performance rather than one of the many “OMG, you’re so hot/beautiful!” ones. I guess he wants to be taken seriously.

I’ve got to the bit in Legend where her inner monologue is keeping him awake and sending him loopy. It’s funny.

His insomnia is entirely self-inflicted IMO - he could have spoken up sooner. 🙄

Have had an incredibly lazy day and binged confession.. It is chocka block filled with intrigue! It's really good stuff... Am very much enjoying the 4 leads and their relationship!...

Meanwhile in BTS World... Ds and dd enjoy a BTS Run episode!... Just watched a BTS vs Zombies... It was sooo funny! Killing ourselves laughing... And watched a cookery episode the other day!... It was the funniest ep! 😂 Sigh! They really make me laugh! 😂 😂

After going on and on about how good he is at cooking Glazed Sweet Potatoes...

I’ve been working most of the day but motivated myself with 10-15 minute ‘reward’ blasts of Legend every 90 min or so. Which has mainly served to make me feel more grumpy.

If you have good HH KJW links, please post them Betty. I’m going to be working every evening next week on this damned report, so I could do with a pick-me-up until my Antique Bakery DVD gets here. I’m drooling in anticipation and not just about the cakes.

Started to watch Touch Your Heart (viki) this morning... It's another spoilt dim actress... Goes to work in a lawyers office as sec for prep for a drama role... Looks fluffy nonsense... Has a great parody of Descendants Of the Sun in the first 15 mins... I think I've watched too many dramas when you recognise references to other dramas! 😂

I quite enjoyed Touch Your Heart, it's quite sweet & tongue in cheek with the 2ML & 2FL from Goblin

I guess if you've started as a moddl then you must get fed up of being rated solely on your looks or ability to look good in clothes. His drama credits are more varied than a lot of other kdrama stars who just do romcoms

To his credit, he doesn’t seem to be shy of doing risky roles. I am increasingly impressed by KJW, although I’m totally biased. Agree about hunting down his films, including the Japanese ones.

Oh yeah, I enjoyed a very cheering 25 mins ironing/bopping along to BTS MVs. Made a nice change from spending the day hunched over my laptop.
