We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but usually only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

I had to click away from Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You after about 30s - awkward! However, moshy band and BTS video were excellent - thanks Betty. KJW and PMY gave fantastic chemistry. The rock band front man video does leave me wondering exactly how reserved KJW is, if at all. Hard to know. For some people in the public eye, the front man role is just that and they are more reserved IRL. I know a woman in a senior role who is ballsy in work, but actually pretty shy and reserved in her private life.

Yes, slightly awkward, but good pronunciation and, you know, still looking hawt 😆😍

... I really liked Seo Kang Joon in Are You Human... And The Third Charm (even though I didn't finish that as I read that it was really promising at the beginning and ending was a real let down! 😭) 😂

I’m going to big up Street Food (food docu) on Netflix. DS2 and I just watched the Seoul and Ho Chi Minh City episodes and it was fascinating. They love snails in Vietnam. The street vendor had some of those funny green snails that KJW was shelling in HPL recently - she called them mud creepers.

Yeah, there must be a tipping point where the producers have to put a stop on casting 2 actors for each role because it’s getting expensive.

Bettys!... Are You Human!... It's a great one! I loved the leads in that! ML is very endearing as the robot!... It's a good un! 👍❤️😍... And I love the cheesy ost!

Just finished Kill It!.. It got really good towards the end!! Quite grim and quite a change from my usual fluffy dramas! If you feel like something a bit dark and grim... Kill It! is the one!

Will start back on confession next I think... And been watching Secret Life Of My Secretary... It's good! 👍 👍

I am reluctantly coming to the conclusion that Abyss is a clunker. Whoever said there’s something missing is right.

Don’t get me wrong Bea. It’s about 90%+ there, very competently done and Park Bo Young is working her socks off, but there’s just something missing. It’s better than a lot of the stuff on telly, but its not smashing it out of the park like Her Private Life. It coukd still come good, but my interest is waning.
