I might have just SQUEEEEED loudly at the TV.
Series 1 and 2 of Bodies (Jed Mercurio series with wall to wall super dishy cast inc Max Beesley) I adored it first time round and am rewatching ASAP

Like Casualty meets Line of Duty. Fabulous

Yes Roz (love your username!) it didn’t really hang together. Also would they really have suspended Whitman for 3 years? And then just let him come back and operate on people straight away?

TheweewitchRoz · 27/04/2019 21:44

I didn't even think of that about Whitman - also very annoying! Not sure why they made it 3 years then as 12 months would have been enough for Rob & Polly to get to the same position although I guess it wasn't long enough for Donna to have graduated (although again another totally pointless storyline!)

Herland · 27/04/2019 22:09

But she wouldn't have got an honours degree at Edinburgh university in 3 years. It's a four year course.

Casmama · 27/04/2019 22:22

I have just watched this and loved it but really didn't like the finale

TheweewitchRoz · 27/04/2019 23:03

Another good reason for the finale to have annoyed me then @Herland Grin

Acis · 28/04/2019 10:23

I think he did have it and it was from the scalpel Hurley jabbed him with. So he fucked him yet AGAIN.

I think the point was that he was fucked either way - he either had the disease, or he'd just committed career and relationship suicide'

I thought Rob whistle-blew because he thought he had nothing to lose, as opposed to revenge motives.

Tony's reference would have counted against him because he kept quiet about the conviction, and the timing would have made it obvious that they were just moving an embarrassing problem on.

I was impressed by Baladi in this series. He normally plays unmitigated shits, but in this case there was an underlying core with some sort of sense of morality, albeit usually thoroughly buried.

TheweewitchRoz · 28/04/2019 12:40

Tony could have lied and said he didn't know about the caution though as he wasn't officially told.

OMG - I watched this when I was pregnant with DS1 (yeah, everyone told me off for watching it, but I was hooked!). I watched several episodes on my little hospital bed TV when I was in for weeks pre and post birth with pre eclampsia (no wonder my BP was so high) Grin The book was fantastic too. I remember chatting to one of my midwives about it, she admitted that all of it was done very realistically BUT each episode had several things that, while they did happen, a medic would only see once or twice in their entire career. I wasn't sure whether to be reassured by this Wink

But - having just rewatched it, I realise that I had never actually seen the Finale! Didn't even know it existed - I was probably in a sleep deprived state with DS and missed it somehow? Or did it air a long time after the other series? Anyway, just watched it and it was brilliant. But what an ending! I can't believe that I didn't actually know what happened to all of them after S2.

Zog14 · 03/05/2019 01:46

I have just finished watching series 1, episode 5. That scene with the baby getting stuck coming out, breaking his collarbone to try and get him out, then pushing the baby back up to deliver by caesarean was truly horrific. I am not at all squeamish but that was hard to watch. I don’t think I have ever watched such an unvarnished hospital drama.

Greys Anatomy, it certainly isn’t!

Enjoying it though (smile)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/05/2019 17:16

DH and I watched it last week, I'd seen it first time around (post DC thankfully) . There were a couple of bits that I was "Nooo not watching" Grin

The end of S 2 where he says "My name is Dr Lake and I'll be looking after you" was perfect . The random 3 years later , meh .
And Polly had so much spark when she was alongside Tony , none of that with Rob.

So glad this thread just popped up in active. Last night I was hugely disappointed to find although it is on Amazon Prime, which I have, i would have to pay to see it. Something to line up after LOD - fab!

LadyKylieShagworthy · 07/05/2019 16:30

I am loving this series. It reminds me of the Adam Kay book - "this is going to hurt" also set in obs and gynae or twats and brats as he calls it. Grin

Just started S2, not sure how I missed it the first time around! Lots of leg crossing moments, especially when the MW is trying to deliver the placenta and pulls the Womb inside out 🤮
