Just seen that Darcy is quitting SCD...whilst I didn't really like her initially, she did grow on me over the years.

Who is going to replace her bring Arlene back

Oh my gosh I am shocked.
If it has to be a woman replacement then I would like Erin or Natalie.
I don't like Karen Hardy. She gurns too much. Like a fraggle.
If it can be a bloke then Brenda would be fab and he has judged before on kiwi version iirc. That would be really interesting to watch.
I also would not mind Anton being given it - he judged a Children in Need version and was fine. It means both Neil and Johannes can have partners and Anton gets a nice job at the end of it.
No to Ashley Banjo - very nice and supportive but doesn't actually critique much or say much underneath the niceness. I wouldn't mind a choreographer though - maybe one of the regular ones they use.

Louis Spence is funny but too Bruno-esque. I like the idea of Ashley Banjo. Brendan would be great too.

SCD fell a bit flat for me last year. Don’t know why.

I won't miss Darcy. It's the way she says 'Attack' in most critiques. Drives me mad 🤪 another female would be great but my money would be on Anton

I'm glad Darcey's going, I found her far too 'queen bee' last year, quite dismissive sometimes to Shirley, who is, at the end of the day, the ballroom expert. She acted like she thought she was the head judge.
I think any of the previous pro's would be good, even Anton, and I actually wouldn't even mind if it was a past winner like Alesha was. At least they'd have some knowledge of the technique required for all the dances, unlike ballerina Darcey or even, lovely as he is, Ashley Banjo.

I've always thought Darcy was a rubbish judge - too pompous and a bit leery, so glad she's going.

I'd like Natalie or Brendan to be the new judge - someone with a bit of personality who also knows what they are talking about but is fair (not flamboyant or playing a part for the camera).

Maybe Erin Boag or Natalie Lowe we need to balance it out with another woman I didn't really like Darcy much she was core obsessed it got right on my wick

Agree, Erin Boag would be good or the blonde one who used to be engaged to Brendan.

Guest judge each week is a great idea.
Mix it up a bit and keep everyone on their toes.

Anita Rani is a good presenter but not for this. Mel from Mel and Sue I could take as a one-of-us pundit but would prefer someone able to talk about technique or choreo. I think it would be hilarious for all those frothing last year to use ringerdingerdong Ashley Roberts! She has judged before on DOI, gets on with Shirley and I just think it would be funny for her to give amazing comments on technique so that all her haters implode within 5 minutes

raceagainst I did read one story that said her decision to quit was because they refused to give her a pay rise and also because she didn't like the constant 'scandals' (aka Seann and Katya) as it made the show tacky

I would take Ashley Roberts over Stacey any day...I honestly would have to think twice about continuing to watch if Stacey was a judge!! Soooo irritating

I don't blame her for leaving if there are huge pay discrepancies - all four should really be paid the same to be fair, they all do the same job.
But iirc Len was always paid the most followed by Bruno.
To chuck your dummy out and leave though...is a radical pay cut indeed, what else is she going to do? Her leaving statement talked about other work commitments. I know she has presented the odd dance doc or two, does she do lots of other things then?
As for tackiness, the show is still one up from all other reality shows or constructed reality twaddle.

Ah, wiki tells me she has done modelling and books and a couple more docs than I realized.
Still, at 49, I wouldn't have given up a lucrative and high profile gig - they do the live show on Saturday and the odd It Takes Two appearance but it's hardly a slog is it? 4 months of long Saturdays.

I felt she didn’t warm to Shirley and was used to being the only woman on the panel. I guess it depends which way they want the show to go. I think it’ll be someone young to attract an younger audience so Ashley Banjo is a good call. I’d like Anton, they can only wheel him out with the mature ladies for so long.

Maybe Ashley Roberts could get the gig but I don't think viewers liked her that much did they?

Darcey used to go on a lot, I would always fast forward through her critique. (As I did with Alesha).

I just hope they get somebody who has the technical knowledge & experience.

Anton would be perfect I thought he would replace Len I know he isn't popular but i like Anton
