Fur Andrew Scott is lovely to watch in interviews. And lovely when he puts his arm round you in real life Wink

yes, I know how sad I sound!

RosemaryTelephoneOperator · 11/04/2019 13:19

He seems lovely Smile

RuffleCrow · 11/04/2019 13:32

He comes across as a really warm, expressive person.

FurForksSake · 11/04/2019 15:02

Oh gosh, I am sure he is sweet and lovely. But also not into girls and not a hot priest... of course if he was into girls he would be asking me to kneel in a confessional within minutes of meeting me. It's literally the only reason he wouldn't be. Literally.

Perhaps I will watch it on mute and just add my own words "I saw this slightly fat, mother of two shouting at her children in Waitrose in Milton Keynes and I will live every day trying to find her and win her..." or something.

Damn you PWB for making me lust over the 100000000000% unobtainable! I'd have more chance with Jude Law.

RosemaryTelephoneOperator · 11/04/2019 15:21

Haha! I had to stop myself when I was considering buying tickets to see him at the Old Vic. Imagine all the swooning fleabag fans!

Saying that, I also have to fight the urge to go to Broadway and see Fleabag.

RosaWaiting · 11/04/2019 15:24

Rosemary The Fleabag fans won't be a patch on the Sherlock fans.

I've seen the crazy up close Shock It was...something to see!

I really hope PWB brings her show to London. Also, if anyone from the BBC is here, I'd def buy the scripts of Fleabag to read.

birdsandroses · 11/04/2019 15:28

@DShathaway, I really like your character study of the godmother and her motivations. I think your interpretation of the gm as someone who admired but also competed with Fleabag’s mum is accurate.

I did feel the Godmother was making a dig when she told Fleabag the status was based on her mum as GM can’t help but compete.

workingparttime · 11/04/2019 15:48

Yes I noticed that the statue was bigger in the later episodes!

dontloseyourhead · 11/04/2019 17:18

furforkssake I had to laugh at that! I’m sure Sam Heughan is similarly looking for a woman of a certain age with a sleep deprived lunatic look in her eye!

RosemaryTelephoneOperator · 11/04/2019 17:45

Rosa I think once she's done Fleabag in New York that's it done... I think.

I would love to see any of the actors live in theatre. One of the many many things FB has given me back is my love for live theatre and comedy. I pre ordered my Fringe Programme for Edinburgh today and plan to make 2 trips a year to London to see plays... love it!!

Sisterself · 11/04/2019 17:51

Well come and see Andrew Scott at the Old Vic in the summer! Maybe we should arrange a mumsnet theatre trip!

TragicRabbit · 11/04/2019 18:06

I think foxes are Fleabag’s spirit animal.
He will be forever haunted Smile

RuffleCrow · 11/04/2019 18:20

I'd be up for that, sisterself. Poor guy will probably end up running for the hills at the sight of umpteen fangirling MNers Grin

HoraceCope · 11/04/2019 18:37

oh thank you for the link to the radio 2 interview, i just came on to find that Smile

QueenDoria · 11/04/2019 18:45

Yes, love how ‘theatrical’ the whole thing is... Andrew Scott aka HP was talking about that in the Zoe Ball interview...

FurForksSake · 11/04/2019 19:01

Fan-Womaning, thank you.

*dontloseyourhead" if the SH facebook group is anything to go by I think he has a lot more thirsty thirties (and well beyond!) after him.

I think PWB is also at risk of a lot of loved up women, a touch more platonic and in awe, but still smitten.

workingparttime · 11/04/2019 19:06

Can we please talk about the size of the statue?! I need to know if I'm seeing things!

Sarcelle · 11/04/2019 19:06

Andrew is on The One Show now. Nice guy, lovely smile, but my crush is over. Sad

NorthernGravy · 11/04/2019 19:14

@WorkingPartTime I started watching s1 again and thought it was smaller and then saw the comments again.

It made me realise that I need to start reading things that make me feel all the feelings. I’ve been trudging through a book that has been blah. I downloaded a book recommended in the Guardian “what now” article and it’s just blah. Just a bit of a rompy wank fest with no feelings. I want stories that have me feeling hope and joy and crushing despair like I had with FB and His Dark Materials. I also had a look at what was going on at the theatre. I used to love the theatre. I wish I was closer to London.

Cozzo · 11/04/2019 19:44

@FurForksSake 😂 one for overheard in Waitrose

FurForksSake · 11/04/2019 19:54

Today my 6 year old was begging me to buy him l'escargot and my 3 year old was telling me he wanted worms if his brother was eating snails...

MsPotatoLP · 11/04/2019 20:41

Just watched Andrew Scott on the telly... He looks cute... although I prefer him with scruffy hair Grin

birdsandroses · 11/04/2019 21:08

@Northerngravy, may I ask which book you downloaded from that Guardian article as I planned to order the Kate Davis book mentioned but hesitating now I have seen your post. Thank you.

NorthernGravy · 11/04/2019 21:14

It’s In At The Deep End. I’m 40% in and uninspired. There’s sex but no true heart so far.

RuffleCrow · 11/04/2019 21:20

I know it's not Fleabag but I'm watching 'There She Goes' on Iplayer at the mo: David Tennant, Jessica Hynes & Nigel Planer - which is a bit of a personal comedy-drama dream team for me.

It has that bittersweet, emotionally honest yet uplifting thing going on. Thought you lot might appreciate the distraction. Grin
