Late to this but...it's a sock, that she wears on her hand like a glove puppet. She was Scary Lady, not Funny Lady, in our house. She was mean - she got out that big old biscuit tin and handed it round and it didn't have any biscuits in it! Poor kids look totally bemused.

Tamum - ds1 was also scared of the little singing (wailing) man in the Tam o' shanter in the house. But the worst one was...

I'm the bear, I'm the bear, with brown fuzzy hair (Penelope Keith) and I'm coming to...GET YOU! And that bloody lion on wheels and rustling trees and the awful sense of anticipation before they appear.

Basically I had to be poised to see if it was a) the merry go round with the dancing bear b) the tree with the leaves c) the boats coming across the lake and if it was anything else I had to dive for the remote control before ds1 had hysterics

The best one ever was the one with a little film of loading up a car transporter with cars - ds1 was in raptures. We waited and waited for it to be on again (so I could record it) but it never was...

She used to make a big tower of plastic fruit.
