Critical woman is right Laurence’s is ‘hot’ his was really good. She fancies him too.

I like Phils one but then I like abstract : Picasso type paintings.
Amber made herself look strange.
George 's one looked like his been on 40 fags a day!

They are all pretty good, the life portraits were better than the selfies. And for once, they all seem like nice people!

I really enjoyed it too (although may need the brain bleach to erase the image of a naked Keith Allen!)

We did have a chuckle at Jane Seymour's soft focus self-portrait especially when one of the judging artists said something about adding some lines on the skin for character

I thought it was very entertaining! Laurence shouldn't be on it though, he has a Fine Art degree. The others are enthusiastic amateurs.

Yes, Jane's portrait looked quite realistic at first, but by the time she finished, it was very soft focus. Surprised it was picked, really.

Really enjoyed this. Watched it with my 18 year old who has a serious man crush on Lachlan, so he is very grateful to the OP for drawing it to my attention!

George reminds me of Adric from Doctor Who, and I thought his self portrait was quite good.

The rest...... why is it TV 'judges' seem to see different things from the viewer and pick the crappest ones to win? same on portrait artist of the year.

as for Keith Allen...oh dear, oh dear. I missed some of the programme. did he remove the cloth at any point? if not why didn't he just wear pants?

Caught up on this earlier and was impressed overall. All seemed slightly bemused by nude model Keith Allen!

Keith Allan is a truly vile human being.

He didn't remove the cloth but they did have to blur out an area when they filmed from a certain angle.

I just pity the poor bastard who had to be there and see that in real life without the benefit of blurring technology

Do not care for the judges. Why so severe? As artists I don’t care for their work. Look at Sky Portrait Artist of the Year. It is brilliant and the judges really know their stuff plus it is very entertaining.

Hilarious that Jane Seymour took off about 40 years by missing out every line on her face in her self portrait. Lawrence's was so much better.

Agreed. It's not a good self-portrait because it doesn't look like her .

She is beautiful now too so why not paint the truth!

Haven't watched it yet, but came on to say:

• Laurence Llewelyn Bowen has been my embarrassing crush for years

• Why is the Rev Richard Coles not co-presenting? Did he and Mariella fall out? Or did he just have better things to do?

I loved this show, always thought Jane Seymour was American though, was so funny when she left out her wrinkles!

It's great to see how they all have different approaches and styles. Something really relaxing about watching other people paint too! (I did an art based A Level and can't paint for toffee)
