Just watched every episode back to back. Crying and laughing at the same time. Loved it.

I was just about to start a thread about this.
I've watched the first 3 episodes. Same here, I think it's really well scripted and acted, at first I thought it was going to be too much like The Office, in the scenes at the Newspaper.

Notasyoungasiwas · 09/03/2019 11:25

Finished the season this morning. Loved it - not many programmes can make you laugh one second and cry the next.

SavageBeauty73 · 09/03/2019 14:30

I'm episode 3. It's so good.

Savoury99 · 09/03/2019 20:28

Just finished it. Not laughed and cried this much at a series since Derek.

IamFrauBlucher · 09/03/2019 20:50

Just finished. I'm absolutely in pieces. How does he do it?

Livedandlearned · 09/03/2019 20:52

Loved it too.

drinkswineoutofamug · 09/03/2019 21:15

Just started, loved feeding the dog baked beans

drigon · 10/03/2019 03:03

Yes, it's excellent and I've never been RG's biggest fan before. Loved all the characters and it was sad, touching and funny.

BitOfFun · 10/03/2019 04:13

Just binged the entire series. As a 45 year old with Stage 4 breast cancer, it was a hard but great watch. Even though I had to listen to my DP chipping in with how he'd be exactly the same HmmGrin

Margot33 · 10/03/2019 04:15

Is this on Netflix?

TanteRose · 10/03/2019 04:27

On Netflix yes.
I just started this last night after reading the review in the Graun.

I've on seen the first episode but the acting is tremendous by the whole cast.

Brilliant stuff

Margot33 · 10/03/2019 04:29

Thanks I'll look out for that.

EdWinchester · 10/03/2019 09:55

I watched all of it in one go. It was lovely.

RuggyPeg · 10/03/2019 10:02

I'm a big RG fan and I loved it. Tiny bit clichéd and a bit like his dentist film but really good despite all that. Loved the woman in the cemetery on the bench and is Ashley wotsit ageing backwards?

WingBingo · 10/03/2019 15:21

I loved it.

He used several bits of dialogue from his stand up. I thought this was clever but DH thinks it is lazy writing.

OneToThree · 11/03/2019 07:17

I’m planning on watching it all today. Can’t wait. Have loved everything he does.

Decormad38 · 11/03/2019 07:21

Watched all 6 in a row. Pissed dh off by laughing then crying constantly. I think I want to marry RG!

mrsdolittle · 11/03/2019 08:54

Just love it. Not a huge RG fan but this has definitely turned me.

One minute laughing, the next crying. Just wonderful

Afternooninthepark · 11/03/2019 09:21

I binge watched it on Saturday it was great, I just love everything he does.

OneToThree · 11/03/2019 12:35

Finished. In the space of 3 seconds I had sad tears rolling down my face to actually laughing out loud. How the fuck does he do that!! Brilliant.

MollysLips · 11/03/2019 12:39

Meh. It was OK. The last episode was my least favourite; every character making speeches giving out Life Advice. Like, who does that?

I think The Office was better at striking the right balance between comedy and pathos.

I much prefer Fleabag. That's emotional without stumbling into schmaltz.

TinselAndKnickers · 12/03/2019 12:34

I am just watching now - it's at the beach scene when he's gone in. Crying my bloody eyes out GrinSad

Margot33 · 12/03/2019 12:50

Watched it all! It was absolutley brilliant!

drinkswineoutofamug · 12/03/2019 13:07

What is the breed of dog?

Celebelly · 12/03/2019 13:08

Binged this yesterday (yay maternity leave) and LOVED IT.
