Did anyone else watch this tonight? I thought it was great! The contestants are warm, genuine and with normal ego levels. There's no pouting, posing, naked bodies.... just ordinary people racing to Singapore with little money and no internet. I'm loving the glimpses of people helping them along the way.

I find it fascinating to see the how the teams' raison d'etre are panning out..

Darron & Alex - father / son bonding, teaching personal responsibility and confidence

Natalie & Shameera - kindness, empathy, rediscovering a sense of self

Felix & Josh - discovery, adventure, enjoying the moment

Tony & Elaine - fuck everyone else! Win at all costs Grin

So well put Twitter
I hadn’t seen it like that.
I do quite like the older couple. I hope I have that much energy when I’m there age.

Am enjoying this very much, as are my kids. Fascinating to see all the place that I know nothing about. Also likeable contestants for a reality show, not just out to be famous.

PickleLillie · 20/03/2019 20:29

I love this programme. I don't care who wins, I like them all. It makes me want to get out and see the world more!

AlbusPercival · 20/03/2019 20:35

I think this is better than the amazing race, less silly bits.

I’d love to do it

NewSchoolNewName · 20/03/2019 20:55

I love this show.
I can’t decide who I want to win.

CurbsideProphet · 21/03/2019 15:22

This is the only prog we watch live Smile

SwedishEdith · 22/03/2019 00:20

Some of these places look amazing - Samarkand.

Horsemad · 24/03/2019 21:01

Binge watched episodes 1-3 last night and am hooked!

Still18atheart · 24/03/2019 21:08

That time of the week again... Who’s watching?

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 24/03/2019 21:36

Meeeee Grin

Horsemad · 24/03/2019 22:01

I did 🙂

CanoeDoYouThinkYouAre · 24/03/2019 22:01

I'm watching! DH spends a lot of time in China for work, his top tip for eating out is to NEVER ask what sort of meat it is!

NicoAndTheNiners · 24/03/2019 22:03

I want Alex and his dad to win.

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 24/03/2019 22:04

I love Alex. His dad not so much.

Seems like ages since anyone has been eliminated! I had my choice ready of who should go this week.

Sarcelle · 24/03/2019 22:04

I didnt like the snowflake Alex at first. But warmed to him tonight, he did well in this leg. I really don't like his dad. He seems to resent his son.

Horsemad · 24/03/2019 22:06

It's lovely to see Alex's growing confidence.

PickleLillie · 24/03/2019 22:13

I love Alex. If I was 30 years younger.... WinkGrin

Still18atheart · 24/03/2019 22:14

Yes I liked how Alex sort of proved his dad wrong.

Why did the other contestants decide to do touristy things but Alex and his dad (sensibly) didn’t ?

Horsemad · 24/03/2019 22:29

We wondered that too Still 🤔

brizzlemint · 24/03/2019 22:32

The two guys who are business partners. Not Natalie though, she's so irritating.

IsabelleSE19 · 24/03/2019 22:42

I have found my people! I love this show so much - hope they do more series as I'm already bereft about it ending soon...

Don't really have a favourite, but my least favourite is probably Alex's dad. I think his motives are sound, but he was being really stroppy about Alex choosing to head straight for the city, even though it turned out to be the right decision! Theirs to lose at the moment.

Just brilliant getting a chance to see all those places you never normally see - that place in China where the checkpoint was looked beautiful and I've never heard of it! Delphi is one of my favourite places in the world though...

TheMadGardener · 24/03/2019 23:06

Another good episode tonight. Interesting dynamic between Alex and his dad - at first dad was dragging Alex around like a dead weight, Alex being a sulky quasi-teenager. Now Alex has woken up a hit and started taking an interest in winning and planning routes, his dad is moody because Alex doesn't want to do everything dad's way. They have a massive lead now.

Wondered how much manipulation had gone on to make sure that in a vast country like China they just happened to stop off at major landmarks like the Terracotta Warriors and the Great Wall. I've never had a burning desire to visit China but as in every episode they found lots of interesting stuff.

Tensions rising between the two hipsters, the two girls still look like a solid team, Tony and Elaine look exhausted.

TwitterQueen1 · 24/03/2019 23:15

Am I the only one who loves Alex's dad? He's been so supportive and deliberately trying to encourage Alex become more independent and less of a snowflake. Maybe it's because I'm a miserable old git too Grin

Everyone except Darron & Alex did a sightseeing trip of some kind, which is what Darron wanted to do. The did well to earn some money though.

The girls are so tight together - except they're not girls at all are they? Apparently they are 39, which HAS to be a mistake! I want whatever they're having...
