Did anyone else watch this tonight? I thought it was great! The contestants are warm, genuine and with normal ego levels. There's no pouting, posing, naked bodies.... just ordinary people racing to Singapore with little money and no internet. I'm loving the glimpses of people helping them along the way.

I would rather spend 25 hours on a coach than a bus (and I've done it too) - it's cosier - you get more privacy because of the seat in front!

Surely there's going to be a panic when they all run out of money? They're running through it quite quickly...

We really enjoyed it again tonight. Not surprised at all to see who was last to arrive, but they've done pretty well really.

It's all a bit set up - a bit like The Apprentice with the contacts for a day's work etc.

£6 for 6 hours work for the girls in Turkey Shock. What a shame the Blue Mosque was closed.

Alex was so pleased to have a bed at the hotel in Baku. Grin
I felt exactly the same after flying home from Sydney.

At the start of tonight's episode we said we would be tempted to go over land rather than the sea crossing, even though that looks shorter. You can travel faster over land than over sea. This episode really confirmed that. Well done Tony and Elaine for going from last to first

ihatethecold · 11/03/2019 07:34

I do like Tony and Elaine. Well played to leave last and arrive first.
The father and son are great, the fathers comments about their relationship have great insight. I’m sure they will come out of this experience closer.

I’m glad the two women who are friends got eliminated. They bugged me.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 11/03/2019 08:02

We watched both episodes last night and loved it.

RedCrab · 11/03/2019 17:40

The thing I didn’t understand about Tony and Elaine taking over from the couple that had to leave - did they ever say anything about them starting at the point/ place the couple had to leave were at? It looked like they just had to get travelling and try and catch up.

TwitterQueen1 · 11/03/2019 17:52

I'm not sure... I think they probably fast-tracked them to wherever it was the other couple had got to... They were in a motel weren't they, so I'm assuming they took a fast train / boat.

We are really enjoying this, watching with our younger children.

We used to love The Amazing Race which is similar but a bit more exciting, with various challenges and more teams.

Haypanky · 11/03/2019 19:40

Oo where can I find amazing race?? Loving this programme and massively jealous... Wish I was brave enough to go backpacking with a 4.5yo and a 20mo in tow! I really thought I would be but totally am not!

Mayvis · 14/03/2019 13:45

@Haypanky

The Amazing Race used to be in Sky but can probably be found on YouTube or somewhere online.

purpleme12 · 15/03/2019 00:49

I'm think the right people went out. I didn't really like how they talked to each other sometimes

Katinkka · 15/03/2019 18:15

Just watched this last night. Really enjoyed it as I loved The Amazing Race too. Immediately wanted to support the two from Bradford as that’s my hometown but can’t stand the whiny son. His poor dad!

SwedishEdith · 16/03/2019 19:27

I love this. I can't remember who was eliminated in Delphi though?

CanoeDoYouThinkYouAre · 16/03/2019 20:34

Nobody was eliminated in Delphi, the first elimination was the two friends last week.

CurbsideProphet · 16/03/2019 20:42

It's perfect Sunday night telly Smile

I wasn't overly keen on the friends who were eliminated. One of the women was so negative and I thought it was so rude that she kept shushing her friend.

I hope the focus moves on a bit from the competition to the scenery and people they meet along the way.

Petalflowers · 17/03/2019 21:58

I’m so pleased the father and son did well. The son seems to be really growing up.

I liked the two girls. They seem to be embracing the whole adventure.

ihatethecold · 17/03/2019 22:17

I want Alex and his dad to win.

Sarcelle · 17/03/2019 22:30

Really enjoying this show.

purpleme12 · 17/03/2019 22:50

Just watching tonight's.

It reminds me of The Long Way Round and The Long Way Down

driftingcloud · 17/03/2019 23:06

Shamima looks flipping amazing. She is certainly believable as 25 even if she is actually 39!

Muddlingalongalone · 17/03/2019 23:15

I'm loving this. Watched ep2 last night & ep3 "live" tonight.
Don't have a fave team at the moment- like & hate bits of each team.
Finding the different places great.

Amazing Race is one of my favourite ever programmes.

Wincarnis · 18/03/2019 06:08

I really enjoy this programme, love seeing the different places.

Samcro · 19/03/2019 11:51

we are loving this.we watch it on a monday. I haven't got a fave, but the teachers annoyed me with all the taxi getting.

Still18atheart · 19/03/2019 11:56

I’m loving this show. It looks like the sort of tv show id actually like to do with the right person. I want the dad and son team to win but reckon the two guys might

MillyMollyMandie · 19/03/2019 12:31

I always enjoy this but until now I haven’t come across anyone else who does.
