Anyone watching.

It's very interesting and scary.

She looks broken and haunted.

She said she'd rather die on the boat than return, and I believe her.

Oh right just seen that photo!

Good to know she is alive. Difficult to tell how she's been treated though. Dressed very casually with her hair pulled back and a slight smile on her face. It's not been set up to give a glamorous image.

I would like Mary Robinson to express her opinion - did she find her good spirits?

Inkanta · 30/12/2018 14:06

Robinson said the princess was receiving psychiatric care, adding: “She’s a very likeable young woman but clearly troubled, clearly needs the medical care that she’s receiving.” She said the family “did not want her to endure any more publicity”

I see here that Mary Robinson did comment. Seems to me that she is repeating what the family has told her, that Latifa is 'troubled' and needs psychiatric treatment. Disappointing.

Disappointing

And what if there was a history of mental health problems in the past that we’re not known to the wider world?

Inkanta · 30/12/2018 17:01

Polly I watched the documentary. I believe Latifa absolutely.

Inkanta · 30/12/2018 17:19

Polly Do you really think it is plausible that she is mentally ill and should basically put in an asylum and given the same treatment (punishment) as her sister - after she tried to escape. No one is going to buy that and shame on Mary Robinson for colluding with such nonsense. The world might might be powerless to do anything about it - but the world is not stupid.

PierreBezukov · 30/12/2018 22:27

No, the world is nos stupid. Latifa's sister, since being caught after her escape, has been according to Latifa, heavily medicalised 24/7. It seems the dame. Has happened to Latifa.

Shame on Mary Robinson. I'm glad human rights organisations aren't buying it. Still, nothing will be done.

Women are not only treated like property in that culture, they are property. Men can treat them however they want and there is zero accountability.
