Anyone watching.

It's very interesting and scary.

With 23 children perhaps he isn't close to these girls at all and doesn't care about them in the slightest. They are not loved, probably barely known at all. They are expendable..
I have zero interest in dubai, built on slave labour from North Korea... Women treated at sub human as the leaders own daughter claims... Sickening.

Elfontheshelfiswatchingyoutoo · 07/12/2018 20:09

Maybe when these amazing batteries are made for electric cars we can tell them to fuck off. The problem is people say.. We suck up to them for oil the reality is we do as a society whole rely on oil.

Jayfee · 07/12/2018 20:18

Seeing how her father beat up the Afghan worker and then deliberately drove over him was horrendous. His love of power outstrips any feelings for his daughter.

SpanishTiles · 07/12/2018 20:23

The Afghan worker footage was horrid. What fate did she suffer? Sad

SoleBizzz · 07/12/2018 20:24

I feel she is locked up as her poor Sister is. It is horrifying.

Charley50 · 07/12/2018 20:29

It's a shame the West can work with Venezuela re: oil, instead of the UAE.

Charley50 · 07/12/2018 21:12

I meant can't.

Hubby, that's their narrative. To brainwash people into believing they're living in an amazing place. The brutal reality in many accounts in horrifyingly different.

Jayfee · 08/12/2018 15:16

I am not political enough but I would love to see a group of people go to the races and all put on Latifa masks.

Thatsalovelycuppatea · 08/12/2018 22:52

I found it all very upsetting.

ellenanora5 · 09/12/2018 00:31

Just watched this, I've always said that any ruler who needs their face plastered all over their country (on buildings, shopping centres etc) is not one I'd ever feel the need to visit.

I admire Latifa for making the video, such a brave move, I'm sorry she was caught, I can only imagine she suffered the same fate as her sister or worse Sad

PollyFlinderz · 09/12/2018 02:46

What can the UK Police do to help? Very little if anything at all.. and claiming political asylum in Oman what difference does that make to her security as her Sister has already been kidnapped from a UK street?

She wasn’t claiming political asylum in Oman. She entered Oman to board the yacht that would take her to India, once there she’d fly to America and claim political asylum.

PollyFlinderz · 09/12/2018 02:46

It wasn’t her father who did that

PollyFlinderz · 09/12/2018 02:50

Glad it's out in the open

It’s been international news since day 1.

Jayfee · 09/12/2018 08:51

Sorry it was his half brother. I assume it was to show how much power his family have and how corrupt the legal system is in Dubai.

Deathraystare · 09/12/2018 08:56

Sadly as long as us westerners want their oil and their holiday destinations, they can apparently do what they like!

Inkanta · 10/12/2018 15:18

This has stayed with me and I keep thinking about the fate of those two poor sisters. Its like they reached out to the world but the world can't help. This leader - is very much a law unto himself and untouchable. I hope at least he is made unwelcome here in this country when he hob knobs at the races.

PierreBezukov · 24/12/2018 22:34

Story on Sky News today. The Dubai royal family invited former UN human rights ambassador and Irish president Mary Robinson to their home to see Latifa, to prove she is alive and is being well treated.

They have released photos. To my mind, Latifa looks awful. Her face wears a haunted expression.

Yes, it's here too. The visit was supposedly on the 15th. Has Mary Robinson not said anything independently about it then?

It just makes it more weird in my mind, not less.

TokyoSushi · 24/12/2018 22:52

This looked really sinister today, the whole story gives me chills.

PollyFlinderz · 25/12/2018 03:44

Why would she when she would have known pictures were to be released?

They chose someone with international credibility to meet her. What’s weird about that?

Jayfee · 25/12/2018 08:52

Latifa looked very unhappy. In one photo she is actually looking away to the side. Will Mary Robinson comment??

IAmRubbishAtDIY · 25/12/2018 09:20

Why would she when she would have known pictures were to be released?

Because from 15th to 24th people were still speculating and the events had recently been a BBC prime time documentary and some information that she was actually still alive would have been incredibly relevant.

They chose someone with international credibility to meet her. What’s weird about that?

The delay, the silence.

PollyFlinderz · 25/12/2018 09:38

I would imagine she is unhappy. She probably realises how ridiculous the whole escape plan was and now that people have seen her they can no longer speculate on her well being.
