New thread when you're ready..

OP posts:

The Sun seem to obsessed at targeting Strictly contestants and a lot of their stories quote "A source" or "an insider".
Amy is lovely so I hope it's not true.

OzzyMadBat · 09/11/2018 08:11

They both look fine on here though he talks for Great Britain and she says very little and they seemed fine on ITT and the samba is looking good especially as they had to change from rumba from what I gather.
Difficult to gauge.

OzzyMadBat · 09/11/2018 08:16

I still think the worst dancer should leave - that for me would be Kate I think at this point. Caketop bridal QS does not bode well and Aljaz's gapping in all his quicksteps, enough space for a bus to go through, always perplexes me. If Amy/Danny are rowing then they need a chaperone in rehearsals like Ola/Steve had. Show goes on and all that.

SoupDragon · 09/11/2018 08:21

Amy andDanny's body language has never shown any hint of an issue has it? Usually you can tell when there is a big problem between celeb and pro.

OzzyMadBat · 09/11/2018 08:32

Indeed. On DWTS they show the spats in the VTs although sometimes that buries the sleb. In the past there has been the odd meltdown in the training room on Strictly. This partnership doesn't do it for me personally but I don't want them to go out for the wrong reasons.

He and Abbey were practically in different time zones! 😄

Bowchicawowow · 09/11/2018 09:04

I thought that DDJ and Amy had a nice relationship. I hope the press aren’t trying to manipulate the votes. What could the DM possibly have against DDJ?

TwitterQueen1 · 09/11/2018 09:07

DJJ didn't do himself any favours with his boast last week about being a real celeb and calling others wannabe celebs... I haven't warmed to him at all in this and I thought I would.

CocoLoco87 · 09/11/2018 09:16

Was he taped saying he's a real celeb etc? (I haven't seen it) or was that from another 'source' or 'insider'?

OzzyMadBat · 09/11/2018 09:18

His comments were taken of context though - he was referring to the Towie Love island lot, which is fair comment. He sees himself as a professional old school entertainer as opposed to fame whore.
I haven't warmed to him but nor am I investing in a pitchfork.
I think socialising in the Star bar or wherever even for one drink would be a teamspirit bonding thing to do but maybe he's just a grumpy old man/knackered/in it to win it, eyes on the prize!/family man (my other half might get back to me quick sharpish if I've had the kids and he doesn't want to be accused of a jolly/schmoozing) but on this show being a good dancer isn't enough. Nice personalities/humble/chemistry/happy partnership all count.
Danny's latest tweet declaring his new CV...with a picture of a crazed King Kong made me laugh though.

derxa · 09/11/2018 09:23

What could the DM possibly have against DDJ? I think it's the Sun's story

SoupDragon · 09/11/2018 09:30

What could the DM possibly have against DDJ?

The fact that he's not a white xenophobe? 😂

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 09/11/2018 09:31

I do like DJJ's tweet on the subject:

My conscience has never been clearer. I take great pride being hunted down by Khaki Wearing, Doberman holding,Tobacco chewing, Cross eyed, Cousin producing, Banjo playing, Chair rocking, Night riding, Sheet wearing, Pointy hatted, illiterate, hacks who’s truth is driven by hate🙏🏾

SoupDragon · 09/11/2018 09:31

In the interview with Lorraine Kelly, he said he goes straight home because he's 58 and knackered. The only other place he's going is A&E.

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 09/11/2018 09:33

And his tweet pretty much ties in with SoupDragon's theory.

bonfireheart · 09/11/2018 09:34

"Cousin producing"

OzzyMadBat · 09/11/2018 09:40

whose truth I'm not tweeting him to tell him that mind

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/11/2018 09:41

Just read the DJJ thing and am really hoping it's not true - for everyone's sake.

Amy should not have to put up with bullying (nobody should)

DJJ should not feel so stressed that he can't cope with the training etc

I should not have my illusions about The Cat shattered

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/11/2018 09:42

I noticed that Ozzy, but I clenched my Grammar Police teeth so hard that they nearly broke.

I'm going to blame autocorrect, because it does these things to me

TwitterQueen1 · 09/11/2018 09:42

He claimed his conscience was completely clear when he was convicted of assault a decade ago too.

OzzyMadBat · 09/11/2018 09:45

He had that conviction quashed TQ

TwitterQueen1 · 09/11/2018 09:49

Did he? I'm sorry I mentioned it then. Apologies.

FWIW, we all have feet of clay. None of us is perfect. We all make mistakes. And I think the pressure to be 'amazing' on Strictly must be immense.

OzzyMadBat · 09/11/2018 09:49

and truly I'm not a fan, haven't warmed to the man (he reminds me of Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast in his gait) but I hate undeserved pile-ons.
I loved Ranj and will now accept a Kevin or Gio win I guess.

OzzyMadBat · 09/11/2018 09:52

...unlike his laidback character, John- Jules lost his cool and unleashed a bitter tirade about prejudice in the UK.

His rant came as it was revealed he had a conviction for assaulting two binmen quashed on appeal.

John-Jules was given 120 hours’ community service and ordered to pay £350 costs last November after attacking two men for not emptying his recycling bin.

But he was acquitted of both charges at Harrow Crown Court on March 5.

OzzyMadBat · 09/11/2018 09:55

I think the scrutiny must be challenging and the paps following your every move.
