This is Len crab practicing for fish week, they are doing the samba.

I see that I am up against some stiff competition melen.

However, I am still quietly confident. My Orca tango will be a thing of beauty.

I think the dark horse will be Fuzzy's Stickleback Charleston.

You could be right Schaden the trouble with Len the Crab, is he can only go sideways not great in a samba.

Thought I'd show you my stickleback costume. What do you think? (Who even knew this was a thing??)

Hate to upset you Fuzzy. That is a Puffer Fish, not a stickleback.

As you know, I'm not a "stickler" for rules and regulations, but if you've registered as a Stickleback, you can't turn up in a Puffer Fish costume.

Mozzie there are a number of differences between contemporary and lyrical, but both of them require a strong classical ballet technique to underpin them (so do modern and jazz come to that, and to a lesser extent commercial), which is why some of us might be thinking that comtemporary in particular will be, shall we say, adapted for television.

I am no expert in describing the technicalities but contemporary needs years of training and great core strength, stamina and physicality to do correctly. There are a number of different styles and techniques. Frequently incororating a dramatic theme and a lot of lifts and partner work, and can be rather angst-ridden!
Lyrical is more easy on the eye - softer, and with a somewhat gymnastic quality to it as well. Similar to ballet but in a more trendy style and often to modern upbeat music.

Sassy a Tuna Twerk, clutches pearls & has a lay down with a nice restorative glass of sherry.

I hope we get a few street/commercial dances, I think I find contemporary a bit wafty and vague. I like a good beat and bit of stomping.

You should try one out melen! Good for the core and the thighs. Quite fun to do a random Tuna Twerk in the kitchen I find. Livens up the washing up no end!
