Oops! Just posted on the old thread and it passed 1000 messages and died. Thought I had better start a new one quick!

OP posts:
LyraB · 23/06/2007 11:58

I've name changed and will henceforth be known as LyraB.

BoingBoing · 23/06/2007 13:15

Oh yes, Lee's voice on Close Every Door is wonderful, and includes an awful lot of 'shade' and depth. Me likes! As you say, Lewis is just ordinary with a few hints of what his voice could become if he trained it. Keith is also very good, but clearly not as good.... Any Dream Will Do just gets on my nerves-I can't bear the plinky plonky! And we could do without the Karaoke version!!!!
Sorry, haven't watched video yet. I'll try to download it now, but I is on dial up. I'll report back in about 3 days!!!

slayerette · 23/06/2007 14:23

Oh LyraB - we all love the new name but have tragic news for you

Since our automated queuing system does not recognise name changes, it regards you as an entirely new person [shock}. Sadly, we will therefore have to move you to the back of the Lust For Lee queue

slayerette · 23/06/2007 14:23

That was meant to be
Should preview my messages but really, life's too short...

oggsfrog · 23/06/2007 14:30
BoingBoing · 23/06/2007 14:39

Where does that leave me in the queue then? Clearly, not such a devoted poster as you guys - dial up, dodgy phone lines and a spam filter at work which vehemently objects to me accessing mumsnet (I think it's the rude words you all keep using!) all conspire against me. But my heart is here!!! Please let me be near the top!!!

LyraB · 23/06/2007 14:40

Slayerette and Oggs, don't make me fight you again.

oggsfrog · 23/06/2007 15:02

Boing I bet my dial-up speed is slower than yours

BoingBoing · 23/06/2007 15:12

Wanna fight do ya, Oggy?! Do ya? Do ya? Ha! You, me, outside, now!!

I've bested Dumbledore before now. You have been warned.

And I'm still downloading the video...how long's that? 2 hours. I'm gonna have to move house...

oggsfrog · 23/06/2007 15:18

But what's your connection speed??????

BoingBoing · 23/06/2007 15:22

Phew! 2 hours, 2 minutes. Coulda been worse.
OK, succinct review. Cheesey crap.

But saving grace of many many many gorgeous images of Lee, including a definite CADM face at the very end. (CADM - see the internet forum for explanation ROFL )

Oggy - coward!!!! You're scared now, go on, admit it.

Right, I now have to deal with a lairy 2 year old, who I've been neglecting for this, so I'll continue much later after I've dosed him with gin & calpol at bedtime. Err, sorry, meant me gin, him calpol.

BoingBoing · 23/06/2007 15:24

28.8kbps. last week it was 4.2!

Right, I'm off to pretend I'm a good mother. I'll release you from the headlock later.

oggsfrog · 23/06/2007 15:51

28.8kbps? pssh that's warp speed.

I get max of 19.2kbps, now that's slow

LyraB · 23/06/2007 15:59

Boing, don't you find that forum incredibly irritating, the way moderators keep butting in to tell you you're having your conversation in the wrong place, and you must not say this or do that. You rarely get any butting in on MN.
I've posted a few times on the other forum but I'm always scared that I'm putting my post in the wrong place or breaking some other silly rule.
btw I think they've now forgiven me for my Keith the Teeth comment

oggsfrog · 23/06/2007 16:37

Gah! I've been watching the ADWD vid on youtube - it took me over an hour to get up to 2 mins 27secs and my bloody connection failed so I can't get to see the CADM face (presume it's "come and do me" )

I'm gonna have to start all over again

Lyra did you get my address?

LyraB · 23/06/2007 16:41

I did. Leefest will be winging its way to you as soon as i can get to a post office (hopefully monday morning).

bewilderbeast · 23/06/2007 16:43

well I for one really enjoyed that video!

LyraB · 23/06/2007 16:45

Me too. It is a teensy bit cheesy but not enough to detract from the overall enjoyment.

Press Release from HMV:

20 June 2007

HMV reports that Joseph winner, Lee Mead, has a chance to confirm his new found star status by going straight to the top the singles charts this week.

His performance of 'Any Dream Will Do' - the title song from Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical, 'Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat', has just been released as a charity single (CD/download formats), with proceeds going to Children In Need, and could end Rihanna's 5-week run at the top of the charts with 'Umbrella'.

Rihanna currently has a slender lead over Lee of just 1500 sales, which he could easily overturn with a strong sales performance during the second part of the week, particularly on Saturday, when his army of mums and younger fans will be out shopping in force.

'Any Dream Will Do' is accompanied on the CD single by two other tracks - a sing-a-long version and a cover of 'Close Every Door' (also featuring Joseph finalists Keith and Lewis). Tickets for 'Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat', which opens at London's Adelphi Theatre in July, are selling out at an amazing rate. The musical, which was first staged in 1968, is based on the biblical tale of Jacob's son Joseph and his eleven brothers.

HMV's Gennaro Castaldo comments:
"It's no surprise that Lee should be vying to top the singles charts this week when you consider the massive TV audience that tuned in regularly to watch Joseph, and how dedicated the programme's fans were to its contestants. It follows that if people made the effort to phone in their votes, there's every chance they'd also be happy buying this song, especially as it supports Children In Need.

"Our stores are reporting that it's mainly parents coming in with their kids that are buying the single."

BoingBoing · 23/06/2007 18:52

Oggy ,you cheated! I'd left you incapacitated, ready to return and finish you off. That's just not cricket! And if 28.8 is warp speed, you really need to pedal faster! - especially if you want to see the CADM face (yes you're right about its meaning), it's a must see

I love the review LyraB - 'army of mums'? Now who could they be thinking of? I bet they still won't play it on Radio 1 or 2 though.

BoingBoing · 23/06/2007 19:13

Any one know when Berrie gets back? If she's been down here in Cornwall in a tent, she's going to be a very miserable cold soggy Berrie.

oggsfrog · 23/06/2007 19:51

Don't think she's due back until next Sat - she's got crap weather hasn't she?

Am currently waiting for the youtube vid of ADWD again - it's been loading for 3/4 hour and I've got 1 min 18 secs

BoingBoing · 23/06/2007 20:06

Oh no! Crap and getting worse. But it's been dry today...for a change.

How's the download going?

LyraB · 23/06/2007 20:31

Did you notice that while you were fighting I sneaked past and reclaimed my rightful place at the front of the queue?
mwahahahahahahahahHAHAHAH!

oggsfrog · 23/06/2007 20:38

Oh arse

I. Don't. Bloody. Believe. It.

I'd got up to 3 mins 4 secs (only 42 secs to go) when the sodding connection failed again!

Don't know if I have the heart to try again now.

I just want to see his CADM face.........
