Oops! Just posted on the old thread and it passed 1000 messages and died. Thought I had better start a new one quick!

Oggs, I'm making progress. Found a way to convert the files by downloading some software. It's going to take a little while, maybe a day if I do bits when I can, but the finished product should be pretty good, I hope. It's a useful learning experience.
I'll update you on progress tomorrow. Off to bed now. Night.

I'm just wondering, but this was on my mind last night in bed...... did you see the pics of Lee with cling film on his head?
They 're not going to put him in a wig are they? , and especially not a blonde wig????

He will be in a wig but only for a short time. His curls will be on show for most of the performance.

Good news for fans of Lees Curls - Curlgate is over!

Not sure if this has been posted, but a Lee fan on another site contacted the Really Useful Group via ALW website and asked why they were covering Lees head in clingfilm, here is the reply she received:

Dear Claire

Thank you for your mail.

The reason we found it necessary to cover Lee's curls with cling film is that, for technical purposes it is necessary to get an accurate measurement of his head. However, please rest assured that Lee's trademark curls will NOT be covered during the course of the show.

We sincerely apologise for any alarm the images on the site may have inadvertently caused you and your friends, but hope this puts your mind at ease.

I was so worried last night that they would try to put him in some godawful wig....

I'm amazed actually that this obsession has not shown any signs of waning, in fact I think it's getting worse

Don't know what I'd do if I couldn't come on here and obsess to my hearts content.

I got a lovely surprise turning my computer on this morning as I'd forgotten that I had the NOW pic as desktop background

Not sure exactly how it will work when its done. I'm still 'juicing' the second batch. once they're done, I'll burn them to a dvd and then see how it works.

What's 'juicing'?

I know, I know I'm a total luddite.

Do you know what, for the last 7 years, everytime we wanted to connect to the internet we've been unplugging the phone line and plugging in the computer one.
Then doing vice versa when we've finished on the internet, or more often forgetting which meant nobody could get us on the phone.

It was only yesterday while speaking to a friend that I realised I could get a double adapter and have them both plugged in at the same time

I got one for a pound yesterday and proudly showed dh my technical skills

Doh It had just never occured to us.

If you've not done it already could you stick a couple of "Paint it Blacks" together near the end, just in case it plays all in one go??? Can't get enough of that one

I'm usig software called File Juicer which 'juices' the files, much as you'd juice an orange I guess. I'm new to it too.
Your house sounds really, really low tech, but so was mine 18 months ago.

I've been watching the vid of the show he sang Paint It Black on this morning (not all of it obviously, only the bit with His Leeship in it).

It's the one where they have a few clips before the song...the one with his onions, and when he imitates Lewis's "Chill Out", and he does his press-ups and says "Body for Life" and the tape has nearly imploded I've rewound it that many times

God, I'm a saddo aren't I

Still not finished, but I'm adding each clip as it finishes juicing and so far it's looking great. Once they're all done (there's another 9 to do) the next hurdle will be burning the disc and seeing if it plays in a dvd player.
i think there are 18 or 19 clips in all.

I've just had a top up by watching the vid of "Paint it Black" again with dd.

She spotted my desktop and said with wide open mouth and eyes "Aw Mum, you fancy him don't you", giggled and said "You must love him then, cos that's what fancy means" giggle

Don't know how long I'll be here tonight as dh wants to watch a film and we can only watch it on the computer - but I'll lust along with you while I'm here.

Oggs, I'm burning the dvd now, so the moment of truth will shortly be upon us.
After all that bloody juicing i found a much, much quicker and easier way to convert the files
Oh well, at least I now know how to do it for the next time I want to make a dvd.

Aargh, the suspense is killing me.......

Dh is hovering, threatening to go in the other room and have a party on his own if he can't watch the film soon

It's done!
It's only taken me ALL DAY! Gahhh.
Well, I'm quite proud of it you know, because I've never done anything like this before. The title screens are really good, like a professional DVD.
The downside, though, is that some of the clips aren't that good quality (I could only find one place to download from so there was no choice).
Some are a bit grainy/pixelated, some are good quality, none are as sharp as a proper DVD. Sorry if that's disappointing.
It does play like a proper DVD on my laptop, but I have yet to try it on the DVD player because DP is watching some rubbish, but I'll try it later on.
To maximise picture quality, you should watch it on a small screen, ie reduce the window size. The smaller the window, the sharper the picture.
I hope you're pleased with it as I did my best with it. CAT me your address and I'll pop it in the post.

God aren't husbands unreasonable when they expect you to spend Friday night with them!
