I know! She really looks the same and the Bill is ages ago. Would have been interesting to watch her play a character that's not socially awkward

I read the book on Kindle, it has quite a few interviews and is quite a good read for ardent fans who always want to know more.

She doesn't look the same close up, its just her hair is always the same. She was in The Vice as well, again awkward. I think she must just be being herself all the time, no acting needed!

I guess acting in soaps is just like staying in any job for years, it pays the bills.

Thanks to you lovely lot, I don't have to actually watch the awfulness that is the Gaskell storyline. I gave up after Roxanna was run over and Gaskell did the surgery. I can no longer stomach him or the storyline.

It's worse than the never-ending Isaac scenario.

He needs to go. And get his comeuppance properly before leaving.

Until he's gone, I cannot being myself to watch Holby. But I'm grateful for your updates! 

Agreed about the never-ending storylines, glutten! I watch EastEnders and Corrie and the same criticisms are levelled at them too (by me and other MN pundits).

I thought she spelt out POL and a poster on here thought she eas trying to spell ‘police’.

I can't remember what she spelt but my theory is that it was more obscure, something Henrik would've recognised but not Essie. At some point Essie will mention it to HH in a "GasKill was right, there's no logical reason why she'd have been spelling out pollo" sort of way & HH will be shocked & explain about that time when GasKill was in Spain & he did a bad thing with a chicken...

Maybe he experimented on a chicken in order to try and ‘lock it in’ and then he put it out of its misery once he realised he’d achieved it...

Looking back at the earlier thread it seems we were agreed she spelled out PL so I'm afraid the chicken theory (whilst very appealing) doesn't work. Something along the lines of "Plymouth is lovely at this time of year" hinting that GasKill did bad things there?

I've just rewatched on iPlayer. She said PO and then there was a gap with another scene and then it cut back to her saying S and Essie said she's spelling out... and then Gaskill interrupted her
