New thread for us

he did murdered her by spiking her drip "for some reason that reads in a Cornish farmer accent in my head.

Brilliant summary.

We all hate GasKill. We love Henrik who is the guy with the worst luck in the world.

frazzled3ds · 27/09/2018 06:56

Hehehehe I didn't notice the errant 'did' in that sentence ... does make it have the air of a Cornish farmer about it!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 27/09/2018 17:23

The key thing to add to that excellent summary is:

Not only is Gaskell's treatment hugely risky, what Roxanna had crucially discovered is that it is all based on a false positive right at the start. Patient Zero - who was believed to have Motor Neurone Disease which Gaskell's treatment had cured - was, in fact, wrongly diagnosed. So what is being touted as a miracle cure is no such thing because the original patient never had MND.

Roxanna (really foolishly) shared this information with Gaskell because she believed that he would then do the right thing, bring his treatment to a halt and get back to the research. Instead he killed her to prevent her exposing the truth about Patient Zero.

SleepingStandingUp · 27/09/2018 17:38

Although he didn't set out to murder her. They had a big arguments, she ran out into the car park and Meena hit her. He wasn't going to help but Xav Duval jumped to the rescue so he came over and stepped in. He did something to her brain so she couldn't talk and when she tried to communicate anyway, he decided to kill her.

He needs to die. Painfully. He's made HH sad.

ISaySteadyOn · 27/09/2018 18:21

He has. Unforgivable. He tied some ligature in Rox's brain to lock her in and then when he realised she could communicate, he killed her. He is terrifying.

SleepingStandingUp · 27/09/2018 18:27

I'm not too worried about Essie, there's always collateral in the fall out but he better not let Jac die and he needs to stop making Henrik sad.

SoupDragon · 27/09/2018 18:50

I wonder if she isn’t dead (they’ve pulled that stunt before) and Gaskill is going to throw himself off the roof

SleepingStandingUp · 27/09/2018 20:02

We live in hope

I miss elliot

OddBoots · 27/09/2018 20:05

I wish they would write out Fletch and his unbelievably annoying children and father that would be good.

SleepingStandingUp · 27/09/2018 20:21

Thread Police, I would like to report a breach of the peace. The wicked Oddboots wishes to be rid of Fletch and his waistcoats. I vote we string her from a gurney and make her snog Sacha

QueenofmyPrinces · 27/09/2018 20:23

Does the actor who plays Mikey (and plays him awfully) have a problem with his spine or posture? Every now and then Mikey looks quite hunched over and I can’t tell if it’s the actor or the way they want the character portrayed..

EndOfDiscOne · 27/09/2018 20:23

I finally watched the Sacha episode the other day - absolutely utterly superbly done how they managed to capture exactly how it feels when I descend into depression again and again - that sense of detachment which you rarely see conveyed, and again (I've been binge-catch-upping) with him returning to work and coming out into the hospital lobby and just hitting the wall of overwhelming noise sensory overload. I'm not well at the moment and it was a bit like "get the fuck out of my head Holby"

As for poor Roxanna - could they not have just bumped off interminable Essie and moany-Meena (and Fletch+Fletch-sprogs). Leave us with the interesting lot and get rid of a load of annoyances. Come on - it's Holby hospital - a freak Martian death ray wouldn't be out of the realms of plausibility for everything that's happened in that hospital over the years and would remove a lot of annoying as fuck people.

I hope it’s hits Frieda first!

SleepingStandingUp · 27/09/2018 20:31

End your punishment is awkward cupboard sex with Donna. Leave. Fletch. Alone.

flopsyrabbit1 · 27/09/2018 20:56

mikey is so irritating

MirandaWest · 27/09/2018 21:21

How many fletchlets are there? We only ever see 2 of them but I thought there were more

Optimist1 · 27/09/2018 21:52

Four, IIRC, Miranda .

OP posts:
SleepingStandingUp · 27/09/2018 22:46

Evie and Mikey are the ones always hanging around hospital. Then there's a girl we never see and a little boy who is mates with Emma, Jac's daughter

FreeNim · 28/09/2018 09:39

I can't believe Gaskell is getting away with murder! It just seems really far fetched now ...

EndOfDiscOne · 28/09/2018 09:41

The Fletchings are the typical soap opera kids... childcare arrangements never mentioned, children never seen or discussed unless they need to fish one out of the cupboard for plot related reasons.

EndOfDiscOne · 28/09/2018 09:42

Frieda alternately annoys me immensely but then will just drop an utterly beautiful sarcasm bomb on someone being particularly annoying (like Jac 2.0) and I love her then.

MirandaWest · 28/09/2018 10:47

I like Freida.

Would be terrified of her in real life

PretendLife · 28/09/2018 11:14

How come Roxanna was alone in a room down a silent corridor? Surely in ITU or whatever they call it there is the odd nurse around? How did Gaskill manage to be on his own so much with her to be able to do what he did.

I do wonder where all these soaps will go next with their storylines. I mean, where can you go after this? we've had a shooting, evil plots, calculated murder.

I do think Holby was better in the past when it had more patient stories and featured other wards sometimes. It seems the stories have to get more and more shocking to try and grab more viewers and win awards. Sadly Holby is the poor relation in soap world, perhaps they will have to have an alien landing - on the roof while they are all up there!

spiderlight · 28/09/2018 12:41

It was better back in the day. Remember Otter Ward - the children's ward?
