Watching on catch up, why is the tent so hot? Surely there must be some way to make it cooler. Every year they have issues with stuff melting. Or do they keep it warm for the drama?

And why were they all in jumpers / cardis if it was so hot??

I read it was filmed in May and the day was unusually hot.

Is the problem that if they start the day with a jumper on they have to keep it on for continuity purposes?

I fear that Terry/I will be kicked out soon, actually. I feel like he IS quite good, but he doesn't seem able to bring his best game to the show.

Except Karen started off in that stripy jacket and then wasn't wearing it later. I noticed because I thought, "God, who bakes wearing a jacket?"

I don't think continuity is a problem with this kind of programme. It's not like watching Emmerdale or something and one minute the character is wearing an orange paisley jumpsuit, and the next they are in a blue and green horizontal striped waistcoat.

I've just caught up with Tuesday's episode. I agree with a previous poster that there were too many tears in this episode.

I'm sure I read an article with Mel and Sue who basically said that they didn't want the show to be all about the contestants being upset. If someone was a bit tearful they would say or do something inappropriate nearby which would make that footage unusable.

But this series on C4 it seems they really are going for the cry-factor. Quite telling at the end of the episode with Briony saying to camera "I'm not going to cry, I'm not going to cry" as if she knew the film crew were willing her to.

Schadenfreude, continuity is an issue - they make them wear the same thing both days so that they can easily slot in reaction shots etc. The same principle may well apply to wearing jumpers etc.

So happy that Rahul got star baker - he's so awkward it's cute. We love Manon, Ruby, Anthony and Briony too, especially Anthony's facial expressions. Pleased that Terry survived another week.

Not sure about Karen or Kim-Joy yet - possibly a bit too quirky for me. The chap in the Hawaiian shirt did well this week, but I can't remember his name. Not mad-keen on the other bloke who is over-dramatic about everything.

I like Sandi and Noel, but I do miss Mel and Sue. Especially Sue! Same goes for Mary Berry!

Right. I have made soda bread in honour of bread week. I toyed with making my own butter to go with it but thought it's Too Much Faff.

I've also made chewy choc chip flapjacks.
