Infertility on EE is no bar to pregnancy.

Alfie, I’m looking at you...

youarenotkiddingme · 09/10/2018 19:26

Infertility on EE seems to get you pregnant!

The80sweregreat · 09/10/2018 21:24

No comments about the Ruby story?
It was a bit heavy handed but brought up some important points I thought.
Seemed to be modelled on real
life cases too.

Optimist1 · 09/10/2018 21:42

I thought the switching between the female conversation and the male one was quite good. Showed Stacey and Martin to be pretty much on the same page, which is nice. Stacey spoke a lot of sense. Martin's unease at what he was told underlined he's a good sort. TBH I could do without another Major Issue being woven into the script, though.

IdahoCrow · 09/10/2018 22:00

I missed most of it, I'll have to catch up.

jollyjester · 09/10/2018 22:01

I'm just watching the Ruby episode and it's been done very well.

I wonder how the whole thing will play out considering it seems to have a lot of similarities to the recent high profile case in NI.

IStandWithPosie · 09/10/2018 22:17

Glad I’m not the only one seeing all the similarities with that high profile case. It’s was quite uncomfortable viewing tbh because of the similarities. Very well done though. I wonder how it will progress. Will she report it?

Lovelygiraffe · 09/10/2018 22:21

Just watched that episode, sent shivers down my spine.

Very well done, Eastenders do seem to deal with rape storylines very well and genuinely raise awareness.

SoupDragon · 09/10/2018 22:35

I thought it was very cleverly done.

ifeelsoextraordinary · 10/10/2018 06:19

Haven’t watched EE for ages and stumbled on this tonight. I thought it was excellent and was surprised at how much it resonated with me. I’ll be tuning in to see how it progresses.

The80sweregreat · 10/10/2018 09:21

I do believe that the old ' men can put it about but women can't' is alive and well and always will be, sad to say.
In her case she will be vilified for having a sex life and many partners and it will be held against her, not so the men involved.
attitudes will never change despite what people say and its all wrong.

IStandWithPosie · 10/10/2018 10:14

I did think Sonia and Honey’s behaviours were unrealistic. They’re both young women not 90 year old Dot cottons! They know people have one night stands, they’ve both done it themselves. The whole pursed lips and looking her up and down was out of character for both of them.

The80sweregreat · 10/10/2018 10:54

Yes , Sonia is a hypocrite ; she has had several partners ( men and women) , one night stands etc and stolen the weight watchers money as well as attacking Pauline once with a fruit bowl! I can forgive her that though! Lol!
Honey is a bit more of a goody two shoes I suppose!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/10/2018 11:29

Yes Sonja reaction was strange considering her history sexually !!

youarenotkiddingme · 10/10/2018 17:18

I also thought it was well done. They covered a similar storyline in casualty recently and I thought that was well done too.

Akire · 10/10/2018 19:34

Just watched was a surprise and well done. Though heavy for time of day. Would have it been better for Martin to tell the boys it wasn’t on? While Stacey was doing its rape chat all boys seemed got off thinking it was ok. Martin should least put some doubt in their mind. I thought big story was going be ruby is alcoholic way she was putting it away again.

Is Tiff story going same as whit and abusive BF? Now Tiff lost him money she has to make it up and probable have do favours with blokes. Between that and slashing people in prison it’s heavy going.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/10/2018 19:43

Honey is a bit more of a goody two shoes I suppose!

Apart from the thing with her dentist Wink

iknowimcoming · 10/10/2018 19:51

I was wondering if the tiff thing is deliberately being done alongside the ruby story as kind of opposing ideas with tiff being vulnerable and taken advantage of but ruby being confident and yet still being abused but might be overthinking it admittedly

IStandWithPosie · 10/10/2018 19:59

Would have it been better for Martin to tell the boys it wasn’t on?

I thought that too but you could see that one of the men was getting really defensive and I don’t think Martin would have gotten anywhere. They weren’t interested in hearing it was dodgy, although you could tell they weren’t sure themselves. All that bragging was bravado to hide their own bad feelings about it. They were trying to justify it to themselves by making out she was all over them and it was great fun.

I have to say I’m glad Martin didn’t challenge them because that might give them the heads up that Ruby would report them and they might put together their story. At least now if she reports them they’ve had no pre warning to plan their cover story.

IStandWithPosie · 10/10/2018 20:01

I hope Martin tell Stacey what he knows and that he thinks it was out of order.

CSIblonde · 11/10/2018 12:41

I'm wondering if EE Wardrobe read this. All of a sudden Shazza's hair is always strategically arranged over her endless black bin bag tops. (As discussed by me & others when she first got to corrupt Keanu, lucky mare). Give us/Keanu some variety please! Yes the legs are good, but the tops...

IdahoCrow · 11/10/2018 18:23

When he threw Shazza her on the table, I expected it to buckle. I know my dining table wouldn't support my weight for long ...

southeastdweller · 11/10/2018 18:27

After a somewhat clunky first half, the episode got much better when both parties were telling their versions of what happened. I think Martin will end up believing Ruby wasn’t raped, after being talked round by his mates. It wouldn’t be EE if him and Stacey were on the same page about something like this, at least for a while.

IdahoCrow · 11/10/2018 20:02

Good call, southeast . That was very well done with Stacey and Ruby. Very moving.
