I sooo wanted him just to gather up his papers and walk.

Wasn't Sausage about 14 when he qualified in Law , despite never going near the University?

(Bit like Holby City where never a week went by without someone hollering that Arthur Digby wasn't old enough to be a Dr /was he just out of school/get a Proper Dr in. Poor Arthur just pushed his glasses up and said nought. He should've snapped his gloves on and said "Rectal exams can sting a bit Mr Frobershire" especially if I use Ralgex not Lube )

EiraElephant · 23/09/2018 20:09

It looks like staceys dad, Brian, wasn’t Charlie’s brother but Charlie’s nephew! So Brian would have been a cousin of Kat, Lynne etc which makes Stacey their second cousin. Same with Hayley. She is their second cousin too. It says “unknown sibling” of Brian so no name of Hayley’s dad although the sibling could be Bev. (Her Mum)

Your parents cousins are your first cousins once removed (down the generation line), not second cousins. So Kat etc are Stacey's first cousins once removed, as they are her dad's Brian's first cousins. Kat's children etc (Bert, Ernie, Tommy) and Brian's children (Stacey/Sean) would be second cousins.

When your 1st cousin has a child it is 1st cousin once-removed, but when you also have a child then your child and your cousin's child are second cousins to eachother. Your mum's 1st cousins are also your 1st cousins once-removed, while your parents' cousins' children would be your second cousins... Shock

And if Charlie is Brian's uncle, than he's Stacey's great-uncle. Mo is his mother-in-law. In my family my daughter's great-aunts father-in-law is called "grandad" by my daughter as he is my granddad-in-law (since birth, he is my grandad), so she is his great-grandad. Stacey calling Mo "nan" makes sense to me.

KeeVee · 23/09/2018 20:18

This also means that if you go further down, when Bert/Ernie/Tommy/Zoe etc have kids, those kids will be second-cousins once removed to Stacey, and third cousins to Lily/Hope/Arthur etc

New name fail Blush

KeeVee · 23/09/2018 20:21

I mean to Stacey's dad Mo was his nan-in-law, so Stacey's great nan-in-law

iknowimcoming · 23/09/2018 23:02

Blimey I'd forgotten about sausage - why wasn't he called in to help free his dad? HmmConfused

Laughing at the prison Mr BigGrin. Love the classical music

DameSquashalot · 24/09/2018 20:32

I'm not sure why I continue watching this rubbish...

IfIWasABirdIdFlyIn2ACeilingFan · 24/09/2018 20:33

I missed half of tonight’s. What did prison Mr Big hear about mick? Who from? Why does he think he is a paedophile?

woodhill · 24/09/2018 20:46

Has Linda become Pat Butcher

southeastdweller · 24/09/2018 21:10

I never like prison scenes in soap. Even for a soap, the prison life is ridiculously depicted and there's never any tension because the character banged up always gets out.

DameSquashalot · 24/09/2018 21:28

IfIWas it came from charming Stuart

IdahoJones · 24/09/2018 21:34

I have no meaningful words for how bad that was. The only moment of relief might have been the sight of Sonia's trumpet, except Robbie was slobbering into it.

IfIWasABirdIdFlyIn2ACeilingFan · 24/09/2018 22:05

Ahh so he has buddies in prison. I suppose that makes sense as he was being a paedophile Hunter wasn’t he? So he would maybe know others who were too and maybe serving time for it.

nancy75 · 25/09/2018 07:54

Last night was painfully bad. Apart from anything else are sex offenders kept in a different wing to the normal prison population? The Mr Big character was ridiculous, my 13 year old daughter is more scary than him!

tenredthings · 25/09/2018 09:05

Mick only does one expression, the other prisoners need to go back to drama school, the whole prison thing was dreadful.
Is reality dawning on Shaza that Keanu won't be able to keep her in fake eyelashes as a mini cab driver without a car ? If Mel has any sense she'll tell both those testosterone fuelled twats to get lost !

Susiesoap7 · 25/09/2018 09:57

Is it my imagination but doesn't jack branning look really old n haggard now? He was quite a handsome chappie!

catinboots9 · 25/09/2018 10:42

What a pile of shit. Who writes this crap?

The prison scenes were awful. Absolutely no reflection of what a real prison is like, whatsoever. For starters, a person on remand wouldn't be put on a wing with lifers/long-term prisoners immediately.

Their researchers should be sacked.

(I work in prisons btw Grin)

Namethecat · 25/09/2018 13:58

Maybe not in your prison but the one I work in does have remand prisoners and sentenced prisoners on the same wings. The one I work in also has lifers on general wings as it does not have a designated lifers wing. We are a B cat prison that also has a Y.O unit ( young offenders - 18-21 year olds ) We do have a segregation wing ( houses sex offenders and those deemed as vulnerable prisons ) Having said that it is the choice of a sex offender to go on that wing, some come up with another offence they try to tell other prisoners they are in for. But I totally agree that t.v. programmes get prison scenes badly wrong.

mrswhiplington · 25/09/2018 17:05

The prison scenes were so predictable. Mr Big reminded me of Grouty in Porridge. The way he sat there tending to his plants. There was nothing original or entertaining about any of it.

Also getting sick of Sharon and Keanu now. Did he bring a flask of tea to the house? What was that about? Really hope someone catches them at it soon. Put us out of our misery.Grin

catinboots9 · 25/09/2018 17:12

@Namethecat yy sorry we do have remand prisoners in with the others, but not normally straight away. They usually spend time on an induction wing first. I appreciate it varies! Totally agree with you though that the portrayal of prisons is crap though.

youarenotkiddingme · 25/09/2018 18:05

I've soooooo glad everyone else thought the episode was bad!

It was like some spoof movie into prison life and so OTT and unlikely it was ridiculous 🙄

nancy75 · 25/09/2018 19:50

Oh god, rubbish prison, rubbish school, I’m seriously losing the will to watch
This woman in the prison has obviously borrowed Sharon’s fake tan

IfIWasABirdIdFlyIn2ACeilingFan · 25/09/2018 20:01

It’s prison pantomime! Grin

Slight tangent- with drugs being such a huge problem in prisons why do they let visitors have direct contact with prisoners? Why not have them separated by screens so they can’t pass anything? I know drugs are getting in in other ways too but surely that would cut down a fair bit of the access? Or are prisons not reall bothered about drugs getting in?

nancy75 · 25/09/2018 20:04

Good the see Hayley is wearing her cardigan, wouldn’t watch her to catch a chill
