Let's go!

OP posts:
ElspethFlashman · 29/07/2018 17:22

Well as Josh is 20, Josh's Dad could well be younger than me! ShockShockShock

unique1986 · 29/07/2018 17:23

He's 27

RoseWhiteTips · 29/07/2018 17:31

The point is two wrongs don't make a right and saying oh well it's ok for Alex to behave badly because wes behaved worse doesn't quite work for me or many others.

Spot on. What a daft defence!

RoseWhiteTips · 29/07/2018 17:36

If you were one of the 30 women this nincompoop has bedded, would YOU want to admit to it now having seen him in action (or inaction) over the past weeks?!😂

RoseWhiteTips · 29/07/2018 17:37

Like others, however, I am treating the number with a degree of healthy scepticism.

MrsFassy · 29/07/2018 17:38

Rose what's daft is not actually reading what people have written. No one has said it's okay for Alex to behave badly. People were discussing the difference in reactions on here between Alex and Wes.

PrincessScarlett

Ellie didn't treat Alex worse than he's treated Alexandra. She simply got the ick once coupled up with him and told everyone but Alex. Alex got nasty about her over that and then he proceeded to do the exact same thing by talking to everyone but Alexandra before talking to Alexandra.

Exactly. The hypocrisy was breathtaking.

Bluntness100 · 29/07/2018 17:44

Well yes I'm not sure I'd admit to shagging Alex, but to be honest, I'm surprised for such a prolific lothario it's been so quiet..

I don't know, it's just odd. Even if he was 20 years old and in a non professional role, I'd still say the exact same about his behaviour.

It's deeply unpleasant. No one liked it the first time he had Alexandra over but the doing it to her a second time, reeling her in to kick her to the curb again, was really shitty behaviour. You just don't do that to people. She's not some piece of shit he gets to pick up and throw away as he sees fit.

Bring on Tuesday.

MrsFassy · 29/07/2018 17:47

One point there, I missed reading that post initially, Alex didn't talk to everyone else in the villa, he spoke to Jack and Dani, his two closest friends in there. He sought advice, like each and every one of us does with our friends before dealing with something we find difficult.

Ellie may well have been doing the same, but if I recall correctly her mind was already made up, there was no seeking advice and she spoke to more than two people about it.

Why do you keep trying to compare it to Ellie and wes? It's very odd.

It feels like you're trying to mitigate it.

We are talking about Alex. Not Ellie or wes. We talked about them at the time and uou wont change people's opinions on Alex by trying to deflect it onto Ellie and wes.

And Ellie and wes didn't do it twice. Alex did. He dumped her, then when she wasn't interested reeled her back in. Lied to her and dumped her again.

Well everyone thought Adam was a proto-abuser. That was pretty strong, but it was backed up by the WA statement.

He got a fairly rough ride on here.

But then he kept his nose clean and people started to basically forgive him.

Same with Wes. Oh he's with Meg now and saying all the right things, let's gloss over his horrible behaviour.

Same with Jack2, dumping Laura fairly out of the blue then sticking his tongue down a other girls throat the very next day.

People's reactions to Alex are kinda wierd though. It's all very "he must be asexual/gay/on the spectrum/shit at his actual job".

Whereas I just think it's dickishness in isolation and doesn't have to mean anything else.

ElspethFlashman · 29/07/2018 17:59

You could also say Jack2 did it twice. He begged to get back with Laura, said all the sweet meaningful things, then dumped her out of a clear blue sky when Laura2 walked in.

That was bad.

MrsFassy · 29/07/2018 18:01

I wasn't the one to raise Ellie. I just responded to something someone else said.

As I said I'm not comparing the actual behaviours, it's the reactions to those behaviours.

I have also said many times now I don't agree with what Alex did the second time with Alexandra. He should have handled it differently.

I will say though I don't think it's quite the heinous crime it's being made out to be by some in here.

He thought he fancied her, had his head turned by another, was rejected by that girl so went crawling back and with a lot of encouragement and cajoling by others set out to win Alexandra back over (disclaimer: he shouldn't have, he should have had enough about him to say to those trying to persuade him that he wasn't feeling it) then when it hit home how invested she was becoming he called it quits.

I do think Alex is socially awkward and has the whole way along seemed desperate to fit in. I think I'm trying so hard to do so he did a shitty thing and hurt someone.

MrsFassy · 29/07/2018 18:01

Also yes Wes did do it twice. And in a far worse way than Alex.

It’s not in isolation - it’s a consistent ongoing pattern.

Jack2 was hardly out of the blue. Laura had already binned him off. They tried to patch it up but it wasn’t working.

Alex was really weird with 4 different women in succession.

Vienna who has done it twice to the same person?

Who has went cold on someone, then recoupled with them, seen they weren't interested, grafted to get them back on track, lied to them, then dumped them immediately after?

ElspethFlashman · 29/07/2018 18:18

Well Jack2 didn't do too far off from that, tbh. He reeled back in a reluctant Laura, then when she was believing they had something special, he dumped her. She was devastated.
