Vienna I think we get it, youre good with how this man treats women, and want to mitigate it by trying to comparing it to others.

It's not comparing Alex with Wes, it's comparing the reactions of people to the two men.

I don't think what Alex did was very nice, but honestly I think some people are being a tad dramatic over it. He made no promises, if you listen to what he said, it was all very vague and non-committal, lots of 'we'll see what happens' and 'I think so'.

When it came to the recoupling he wasn't left with a choice really, but at that point he should never have tried to pretend that it was anything more than friendship. Only he knows why he lied, maybe he was trying the whole 'fake it til you make it', but then once he realised how invested Alexandra was becoming (taking about future outside the villa etc) he couldn't do it anymore.

Or maybe he's cold and calculating. But that theory doesn't hold when he couldn't fake it for a few more days.

I am not, and have not, ever said how Alex treated Alexandra after the recoupling was okay. He should have been honest from the off, but maybe he felt he couldn't be due to the environment they're in. We're all judging on a real world situation, but in there it's not the real world.

Ellie didn't treat Alex worse than he's treated Alexandra. She simply got the ick once coupled up with him and told everyone but Alex. Alex got nasty about her over that and then he proceeded to do the exact same thing by talking to everyone but Alexandra before talking to Alexandra.

I disagree, Ellie never had any real interest in Alex, she just knew how popular he was on the outside when she went in. She went cold on him almost as soon as they'd recoupled.

She played the game, and considering it's a game show of sorts she did what she needed to do. I can't really fault her for that part. They've all done that at one point or another since they've been in there.

I just watched Firstlook, I’m glad Megs dad said he was proud of her. I don’t like her for what she did to Laura (especially the asking for a kiss before Wes has spoken to Laura) but feel sorry for her when she comes out and reads everything

That's my point Viennasky. You said Ellie treated Alex worse than Alex treated Alexandra and I said she didn't. Alex acted the same as Ellie after he made such a fuss of what Ellie did to him and slagged Ellie off to the rest of the villa.

Asked this earlier but think it got lost amongst the Alex chat but did anyone think Kaz's mum was trying to give her a warning?

I'm praying Alex disappears after this series ends.
Can't stand the sight of him. Far too much air time given for someone that wasn't even entertaining and arguments were so dull to watch.

He obviously never met the type of girls who go on love island before so didn't know whether he would or not beforehand. Now he has tried it and doesn't like it.

How can you say he obviously hasn't met these types of girls before. How can you possibly know that? Do you know him?

If a man who was a strict Muslim, went in there knowing what it was and was stand of fish....I would say the same, he shouldn't have gone on there. Simple.

He was actually rude (and cruel) as he went one step further and led Alexandra on. Twice. He didn't physically avoid Alexandra but he was distant with her. She was upset because he was so cold and distant one minute, then he was shoving her hand down his shorts implying there was some sort intimacy between them, then back to cold and distant, then implying there was a future for them before dumping her immediately after. Far worse behaviour in my opinion.

Can you imagine The Alex next year?

I was glad Megan's dad said that too, Daisy. Had seen a few headlines about her dad leaving the country through shame at her behaviour but even at the time thought he'd probably actually left to escape the vitriol about his daughter! It's nice to see that she will have a support system in place when she gets out.

Can't wait to see Alexandra's mum give Alex a telling off!

And MrsFassy I thought that too about Kaz's mum. Josh and Kaz do have a lot of chemistry but he's just not a good guy is he! She can do better. And since posters here have mentioned his constant acting-up for screen time I cant stop noticing it

I'm curious to see alexs parents too. If that was my son, he'd be getting a word about how to treat people.

He's really done himself no favours. A quick look at twitter or the daily fail tells us rhe public perception is deeply dismayed about his behaviour.

Maybe they hold a 27 year old to higher standards that a 20 year old. Maybe they hold a doctor to higher standards. Maybe they object to him playing mr nice guy whilst obviously lying and continuing to lie and publicly leading a woman on, when clearly he never had any interest at all.

Whatever it is, Alex was fine when it seemed no one fancied him, we weren't questioning why not, and felt sorry for him, it's fallen apart for him when we have seen how he treated a woman who did. And the worst of it is, he did it to her twice.

Once you could excuse it as playing the game. But twice and decent people are out.
