And I haven't defended everything he's done wrong. I was quite critical and vocal when he was making a move on Laura2.

I defended him when people were being very personal and nasty about his skin, and then recently with Alexandra.

I've defended other islanders at times too, just nobody cares as much as when you defend Alex.

North Wales doesn't sound at all like the Midlands I can confirm (being from the Midlands) north waleans have a very distinctive accent although some (like Amber from last year) can sound slightly northern.

As for Alex, he does actually have a slight accent - much like many people in South Wales.

I dislike Alex for so many, many reasons but the biggest one is him grabbing Alexandra's hand and putting it down his trousers. Surely that's sexual assault. And now it's made clear he didn't even like her but was using her ... Ugh.

You defended his lying to Alexandra, said it was understandable, that others would have done worse, you defended him getting back with her and dumping her, proclaiming he only just realised he didn't like her and the way she dressed must be putting him off, so in effect she was to blame for his shitty treatment of her.

You've even had to say before how you come across as his mum becayse you defend him so vehemently.

And is not no one cares as much unless it's Alex, there you go again with the complex, simply he's behaved the most shitty recently.

People don't like it when a woman is lied to and humiliated, especially on tv, they don't look to seek ways to blame the woman and justify the mans behaviour. So we have to agree to disagree.

He knew he was in the wrong - that much was clear from the way he was suddenly lost for words when Alexandra rightly brought up the issue of the lie detector questions.

She did brilliantly in her response to him, I could never have been so clear and articulate especially in such an emotionally charged situation. The look on his face was like, "she's on to me, I thought I could outsmart and manipulate her but I can't and now I'm shown up for the bastard I am". Priceless.

Seriously don't see how anyone can continue to give Alex free passes he was gifted a spot on the programme denying genuine people of a chance to actually play the game. Kieran was stopped from the producers but hinted quite heavily that Alexandra was under quite a bit of pressure to pick Alex. She cried after she initially chose him then did great acting.. she naturally was more naturally entertained by Idris. At that point she was still confident, then Alex puts on his act for a few days until Laura 2 shows up and he wanted to part exchange...he doesnt give a shit about Women's feelings but expected from Ellie and Samira to be worshipped. He blew off or was blown off by Charlie...the details remain sketchy and utterly lied both on the lie detector task and before and after 2nd recoupling when he apparently did want Alexandra. He could have admitted this wont work romantically but we can have a laugh until the end...but he didnt he did operation rekindle. Smirked when Paul chose Laura...leaving Alexandra with no choice but to accept him. He really is pathetic. Whether or not other women want to defend him as they know others like him...indicates a horror and realisation that people want to normalise his behaviour

They need to get him out of there, I assume that's the producers intentions. He's now gone too far, saying he thought she was perfect for him, that's he given it a good go, and annoyed she won't play the game and agree with him to save his image and instead proclaiming he was dishonest, distant and didn't try at all.

What he doesn't know is the rest of the islanders were also saying something was wrong with his behaviour when he was away on the date, so it's not just Alexandra. They all thought it.

He's about to go into full blown gaslighting "look at me trying to be friends and the bigger person, and she's being thoroughly unreasonable" to try to save his public image. Alexandra is fine with it, so so should we be, right? He needs her to say it's fine.

Hopefully he's out tonight and it's over.

Exactly ! It's a bit ridiculous (and boring). I bet Alexandra won't even care as much as you guys arguing do. It's only a game show. I'm not an Alex fan but I hope he doesn't get shouted at in the street buy over-invested morons.

Your observation/speculation that my comments about Alexandra were somehow racial is beyond contempt.

Wes is an original islander. So would be upper most in the public's conscience but I didn't mention him.

It’s funny we’re all watching the same show and have such vastly differing opinions. For me, Alexandra went in with a massive game plan, knowing Alex was popular on the outside and saw him as her ticket to a win. It seemed pretty evident that Alex completely repulsed her but she played her part in the game and it just didn’t work. And that date was semi scripted.

Alex is many things and is painfully socially awkward around women but some of the comments on this thread about him are crazy.
