Laura can be so level headed sometimes which is the opposite of the needy, over analysing bore that she is behaving like lately. It's like she is desperate to create the appearance of a strong connection with Jack 2 when it apparent to everyone including herself that they have no chemistry at all.

Meg has toned her "act" down considerably now the end is in sight. She is staying out of any conflict and is happy to sit either gazing intensely at Wes or giggling and smiling like a Cheshire cat even when she received the cock sucker comment.
