I don't believe Chris's version of events
There's a lot more to his story IMO.
I guess we're supposed to see him as a vulnerable victim , a nice guy who fate conspired against.
I just don't see him that way , I'm sure I'm in the minority there.
I don't necessarily think he's the murderer but a lot of things don't don't add up or ring true for me.
I'd like more details of his finances.
He was a millionaire before the breakdown but immediately following the divorce only 4 months later he had very little
He had mentioned to Jamila that he ran up debts at the company, I wonder what he did and how extensive they were.
Why didn't he reach out to his friends when he was going through all of this?
He was innocent and hired a lawyer and investigators to fight his case but didn't ask any of his friends for support?
I know he had mental health issues and sporadic access to medication but this still seems a bit strange
He had said to Jamila that his friends tried to help him but he wouldn't accept their help because he felt he deserved it
Why would that be?
He told the police that only Tim offered to help him and that was 10 years after the breakdown. Why did Tim track him down then I wonder.
This is inconsistent and I feel the whole story is a little too pat and self serving.
None of this necessarily has anything to do with Hayley's murder. It helps him to explain why he lied in the first interview but it doesn't discount him as a suspect
It seems designed to elicit sympathy and perhaps distract from what's going on.
