@viennasky this is true, and food for thought. The fact George Clooney may appear 'odd' and 'too serious' from a lot of the girls due to their limited understanding of what a grown up or real man is like really is interesting and a bit scary.

Does anyone think the Jack and Dani thing actually breaches some kind of law or maybe it's just unethical , because it's a voting game show (though no money involved in the public voting) but they have clearly been 'decided' as a couple way before the show itself and are given way more airtime.

It's definitely not right, that's probably why they don't charge for voting so they can continue to manipulate and basically choose the winners themselves.

Surly it wouldn't be beyond them to actually get vast amounts of people to vote for the couples they want also?

Banter is different from conversation, not a class thing at all. Someone who fancies themselves as upper class might say they're engaging in 'witty repartee' if they wanted to use a different register.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist honestly! It just leaves a really bad taste for me, it's so cynical and would be typical of such a production as regards 'making stars', creating huge revenue for themselves.

I guess though everything is about money really. But it's just so obvious this year and it's been so sanitised after the last year's, it feels a bit like one big advert!

Samira’s team calling out love island on insta over the lack of screen time for her and Frankie with a post showing a fun moment between them. Must be from the Saturday show. So true. he seemed nice and I think both him and Samira would be more popular if they had more screen time. I like jack and Dani but they’re boring as hell. We get it, you looove each other. Only so many times we need to see and hear that surely!

Those overly muscular torsos are unattractive. Unless they devote time and effort to maintaining the look, they will turn flabby. Delightful.

@readysetcake I'm pleased to see this. This is beyond unfair , it's actually wrong and corrupt, perhaps even racist.

If Jack and Dani were given the same kind of screen time as Samira and Frankie from the beginning I think one of them could easily have be voted off too. Its all well and good until you really can notice yourself being manipulated.

Love Island, we have noticed

It's so obvious now that because of the love for this thread and I of course want to see how it plays out till the end! but I definitely wont be watching next year, once something gets so messed around with like this it looses all its charm, excitement and fun.

But this thread is really fun, love it !

I'm not convinced this is the case but appreciate that many people think they're a set up.

IMO the producers couldn't guarantee that Jack and Dani would fall for each other. I know psychologists could have had a good guess but it's no guarantee. Also, Jack and Dani are not Oscar worthy actors. They would have to be if they were faking those emotions in the villa.

Jack liking a few Instagram posts and admiring Danny Dyer is hardly a smoking gun.

Sure, they're not "doing bits" but most people wouldn't on TV. Their kisses are fairly tame but I don't think many couples have been full on (Megan and Adam are an exception rather than a rule).

And what possible reason would the producers have for wanting Jani to win? Have they agreed a commission on future earnings?!

I think it's more likely that the editing team are televising the stories that will garner the most viewers and the most column inches. The programme is hugely tied up with sponsorship deals and they want millions of viewers. The app polls and Twitter comments show that Jani are very, very popular. The editing has therefore entered a vicious circle - Jani are popular so they get more airtime which makes them more popular and so on.

How does the team running Samira's IG know she's been funny and that her and Frankie had amazing chemistry?

@Zampa this sounds very true as well. It's also probably swung by thousands of 13/14/15/16 year old's voting for them, massively outnumbering the more discerning 20 years and above voters.

Sorry, late to the party, but Rosie is a qualified solicitor. She appears on the roll (yes, I searched it when she first came into the villa). Agree, however, that her TC was at what is, essentially, an ambulance-chaser firm. It's not remotely reputable or prestigious.
