We-ll I don’t think it is entirely untrue. Not defending him trying to shift all the blame her on her, but the fact is he fancied her at the start - it was her personality and behaviour that made him go off her. (And me too). He told the other HMs - her clinginess, neediness and insecurity - were like his ex. And she’s just a bit ick.
I could very clearly see he wasn’t that into her way before Zara came along. The reason he made a beeline for Zara was because he wanted to get away from Rosie.
Of course he could have a) not led her on b) distanced himself c) not engaged in sexuals etc.
He also could have been honest and said ‘I fancied you at the start but being coupled up made me realise that we were not compatible. I shouldn’t have been so full on when I wasn’t feeling it 100% that is my fault’.
But that would have required him not to be a twat.
