Couldn’t see another thread and the last one is full!

I love J/D and just have a huge grin on my face whenever they are on screen. Same with Wes and Laura. They genuinely seem to like each other.

100% think Adam has tried it on with Megan. He will have been surprised she didn’t pick him for a date, that kind of man does not understand rejection.

Charlie is super creepy. I don’t like blonde men at all though but he reminds me of the lad off This Is England....the one who was always fighting with the main lot.

I don’t get all the snippyness towards Wes having a decent job? He clearly can’t talk about it if he’s dealing with confidential stuff. Seems fair enough. Who doesn’t big up there job title? Nail technicians I’m looking at you!

Eyals instagram is worth a look. Think he is probably a toned down version of his LI self in real life

I don’t think Alex should have bothered speaking to Megan as unfortunately it’s made him appear a bit desperate. It would have been better if he played it cool and treated her like a friend and wait and see if she approaches him. I don’t think she fancied Alex but also don’t think she’s keen on Eyal either, just likes his looks.

If he likes his job he way better be vague about it in the hope that he doesn't say anything out of turn and can go back to it.

I wasn’t snipy imo I was as I said confused. I have 1 friend in my circle who’s an engineer & I just remember him doing a degree & exams & having to have a number of yrs experience. I just assumed this was the only route & that anything with nuclear in the title would involve mucho expertise. I like Wes, he’s clearly intelligent & mature. I didn’t think about the “loosing your job” factor though.

Alex DOES come across as desperate. His lack of confidence puts people off regardless of his profession or paleness (!)

DH is in the same industry as Wes, he had to go through developed vetting (the highest level of security vetting in the UK) and sign the Official Secrets Act, so very likely that Wes really can't talk too much about what he does.

I've just got DH to explain how it works in his company. They have apprenticeships, which go down the HNC/HND route and become technicians, and paid internships, which do a degree and become engineers . Assuming Wes is on something similar to the paid internship, he'll have done 3 days at university, 2 days at work for the first year, 4 and 1 in his final year and then once he got his degree will be taken on full-time (while they're studying, they do it on 12-month contracts and renewal depends on academic performance as well as how they're doing within the company). Pay starts around £20k pro rata and by the time they go full-time they're on c. £27k at 21/22. If they stay on, they're supported through getting a Masters and applying for Chartered Engineer status (which is the protected term).

In relation to Wes' job, 'engineer' isn't a protected title (unlike eg doctor or architect) so anyone can call themselves an engineer (much to 'real' engineers annoyance - there have been frequent campaigns to to try and protect the title). So I suspect Wes is not an Engineer, but rather and 'engineer' in the way you get hair engineers and washing machine engineers.

Oh my DH is always going on about this! He is an 'engineer' in a 'German' automotive engineer way, and gets so cross at people calling themselves 'air conditioning engineers' and the like!

I am finding Alex a bit much now. He is not entitled to Megan, and needs to back the fuck off. It was sweet at first, but now he just needs to leave her and Eyal to it.

I think Alex just wants to stay in and Megan is giving mixed messages. He's obviously under the impression if he had been a little clearer like eyal she'd have went for him and he's being egged on by the others.

Let's face it, it must be fairly shit when no one wants you and irs being played out on tv to millions of people. I think saying he feels he's entitled is a bit off here. I don't think that's the case, just his ego is dented, as would anyone's, and she's telling folks she likes him and may have made the wrong choice, and everyone is egging him on to Go for it.

He is however shit with women and his chat with her last night was cringey.

Samira is in a similar boat, but she doesn't have a boy she fancies running round saying he likes her and may have made thr wrong choice. If she did, she may also be trying to get some time to chat to them alone.

I don't think it spells entitlement, just maybe it has a little whiff of desperation about it.

It does feel like Alex thinks it's 'his turn' with Megan. I do think maybe Megan is leading him on a bit now, but no, I don't like the way he is being about it.

Fair enough. As said I don't see any of the mysogny you're seeing, from "his turn" to "entitlement", I just see a guy with his ego dented and a woman running round saying she likes him and may have made a mistake. Samira is only with him, and her him, because they pretty much have no other options. It's not friendship island really. Sure they like each other as mates, but both would prefer to be with someone they fancied and coupled up.

It wasn't his idea to have the chat with her, the rest of the men concocted that and he went with it.

So I guess we see different things. As said, I don't think he handled the chat well, he's quite awkward, but I can see why based on eyals forcefulness he might think that's what's required. Clearly though it's not his way, as he's shit at it.

Yeah, but maybe he should have had a normal conversation with her, talk about things that might actually be interesting, rather than more "how are you and Eyal?" type stuff. Thought he wasted that time with her really.

And Adam was clearly a Mean Boy at school/work - he was far too adept at making Eyal think they were interested whilst all laughing up their sleeves. Unpleasant to watch, much as I dislike E.

I have liked Alex so far but that bit last night was uncomfortable to watch. He should have just have a normal conversation with her. It just made him look pushy and like he thought Megan didn’t have the ability to make a decision without being pushed into it by Eyal.

Agree he didn't handle it well. Think he was caught a bit on the hop, isn't experienced in that scenario, and was a bit nervous. I found it all a bit cringe, rather than anything nefarious though.

To be fair to Wes, my ex was an engineer, a legit, paid well, knew what he was doing engineer, by 20. He'd gone into specific training from 16, so it was complete to be qualified in those 4 years. Of course he continued (continues?) to train but he was an actual engineer very young and paid far more than I ever will be

Thing is Megan is the one telling folk she doesn’t know if she made the right choice. It’s not unreasonable for Alex to ask the question if she’s only with Eyal due to his constant cock blocking of Alex as opposed to because that is who she really likes. As viewers we can see that actually she’s not that conflicted as she’s swapping saliva with Eyal all the time but Alex doesn’t necessarily know that she is instigating this.

I think anyone with a ounce of emotional intelligence and self awareness would know that Megan chose Eyal because she fancies him more.
