Love Island Is Back part 2

Couldn’t see another thread and the last one is full!

I love J/D and just have a huge grin on my face whenever they are on screen. Same with Wes and Laura. They genuinely seem to like each other.

100% think Adam has tried it on with Megan. He will have been surprised she didn’t pick him for a date, that kind of man does not understand rejection.

Charlie is super creepy. I don’t like blonde men at all though but he reminds me of the lad off This Is England....the one who was always fighting with the main lot.

He could be an apprentice working towards BTEC and/or NVQs.

Makes sense, he just seems to talk like he’s actually an engineer as opposed to an apprentice.

TatianaLarina · 13/06/2018 22:28

Alex is such a bore!

OutofSyncGirl · 13/06/2018 22:29

Megan said that Eyal was being quite cold with her. He doesn't seem very sincere to me. They have all seen how LI ended last year for the couples in the villa til the end. They will mainly be in there to raise their profiles.

Delatron · 13/06/2018 22:32

I know, with regards to Laura I even read the first thread and we were all 'ooh we don't like Laura' instantly. Then she settled in with Wes, chilled out and had a go at Adam. Now we like her!

I think Alex feels Eyal won Megan by coming on strong, the snogging her in from of everyone, not letting her chat to him etc. So I guess he has seen that his tactic of just sitting back a bit hasn't worked. Agree he came across as desperate though. Poor bloke can't win. He should treat her as a mate and wait for another girl to come in now.

Bluntness100 · 13/06/2018 22:43

I think Megan fancies eyal but senses he's not that into her and playing a game, so agree she is hedging her bets.

I thought it a huge disappointment that Rosie was left with Adam. They should have let her pick earlier.

I was also unsure about wes's job. He seemed to be bigging it up, because of his age, but he is reported to earn well. It's confusing.

I think the complexity in that relationship will be when reality steps in outside and Laura realises she's dating a 20 year old living at home with his parents. She's looking for babies and marriage and he just can't believe his luck. I don't know they clearly are very into each other, but I'm not sure when they go back to thr real world, the age difference might not just kill it.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 13/06/2018 22:44

Alex played that wrong. He shouldn't have spoken about the love triangle situation at all, but just had a bit of less awkward banter. Constantly talking about how you feel when you aren't totally into someone is a huge turnoff and would make most girls run a mile.

He doesn't realise that she knows really that Eyal is a twat and a bit slimy, but he's also very nice to look at so she's just kinda ignoring that. Megan and Eyal won't last. But Megan and Alex isn't likely to be a thing either.

Laura reminds me a bit of Sandra D. She does seem very into Wes.

Yamayo · 13/06/2018 22:45

Hate the way they are all miked up weirdly so that whenever they kiss it's all slurpy.
I have misophonia and it really puts me off. Grin

Alex is too pushy. It's freaking me out- I get a slight nice-guy-incel vibe from him.

MissClarke86 · 13/06/2018 22:46

Charlie reminds me of James Norton.

OutofSyncGirl · 13/06/2018 22:47

9 years isn't a huge difference when you consider that Wes seems very much more mature than many of the other older guys.

Patienceisvirtuous · 13/06/2018 22:47

Blunt totally agree re Wes and Laura.

He is clearly trying to make his job sound better than what it is - he skirtsroubd talking about it and isn’t very articulate about it...

Patienceisvirtuous · 13/06/2018 22:48

*skirts round

Bluntness100 · 13/06/2018 22:54

9 years isn't a huge difference when people get older, I agree, but a twenty year old guy and a 29 year old woman are at very different life stages. Wes has never left home or lived independently. He only left school a couple of years ago,

He does come across as much older, but I do think when she sees his bedroom at home, his friends who may be the same age, his parents who may not be that far off her age, I suspect it could become weird.

Yes, that’s true. He is like him especially when he smiles. I like James Norton too.

OutofSyncGirl · 13/06/2018 23:10

'his parents who may not be that far off her age'

Unless they were teen parents that's not very likely.

RoseWhiteTips · 13/06/2018 23:15

Have just seen the bead-smelling bit again on Twitter. Eyal actually closes one nostril after a few minutes presumably in order to absob the scent more effectively. So funny

Charlie is in stitches. 🤣

I think Megan genuinely was torn between her head and her vagina.

Eyal is lovely to look at despite his personality and she’s probably dated enough of his kind to know she should go for someone different. I can’t see Alex cheating on her in RL.

But she’s young and we all love a boy who’s no good for us. I really do think she’s regretting her choice.

Alex’s best play would’ve been to be cool with her, not mean but just a mate and then hopefully another girl will come in he can get with. By that point Eyal would be massively grating on her and she would have been regretting letting Alex go.

Love Wes and Laura, sit here with a stupid grin on my face when they are on together and Jack and Dani are so lovely together. Jack is just the best!

Have to say I found the whole plan thing hilarious, the things they were saying, just bolting at the end. I don't think it was at all harsh, just harmless.

Wes probably doesn't need to stick to Laura, I think he probably genuinely likes her and wants those things and is a bit heard on his sleeve.

I seem to be warming to Adam again. Damnit!

WolfMcWolferson · 13/06/2018 23:49

Oh and Eyal is AWFUL. Megan needs her head testing.

TheCraicDealer · 13/06/2018 23:54

What was the bit Alex said to Eyal in the preview for tomorrow? “Do you want to __ or not?"

It all looked very confrontational. And by 'confrontational' I mean more Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver slapping each other with breadsticks rather than Mayweather vs McGregor.

BuenosAires · 14/06/2018 02:08

Its such a shame about Eyal, I really wanted to like him at the beginning. I imagine he is very different in real life - the way that they are sort of forced to compete for people's attention (people who they would probably have little interest in 'on the Outside') seems to bring out the worst in some of them.

I imagine Alex will look back and cringe at the way he obsessed over women he would not dream of dating in normal circumstances.

mnahmnah · 14/06/2018 06:09

Wes has said a couple of times that he can’t talk about his job. As it’s linked to the nuclear industry, this will be the case. I’m guessing it is some kind of apprenticeship, getting trained up towards a degree or something else as he works. Even just doing the more basic end of the job, not necessarily a fully blown engineer

TheNavigator · 14/06/2018 06:13

In relation to Wes' job, 'engineer' isn't a protected title (unlike eg doctor or architect) so anyone can call themselves an engineer (much to 'real' engineers annoyance - there have been frequent campaigns to to try and protect the title). So I suspect Wes is not an Engineer, but rather and 'engineer' in the way you get hair engineers and washing machine engineers.

Bekabeech · 14/06/2018 06:49

I expect Wes is an Aporentice Engineer for National Grid or the other one, he could be working towards his degree with them. And apprenticeships are not just following an older bloke around handing him tools.
I knew apprentices in the old days who were heavily involved in keeping Underground trains going or powering Lighthouses. (They also made extra cash rewiring houses.)
