RADIO : The Archers; Am I the only one struggling not to cry when I listen to Siobahn?

It seems so silly. This is a drama, a soap opera, yet I'm really struggling.

Also wracking my brains to think who I could trust to bring up ds if anything happened to dh and me.

Well yes, I mean the situation in the plot.
I don't find her irritating, but still consider she was damned stupid to fall for Brian in the first place, let alone get PG.

It's a situation you can really imagine, as a parent tho'

Well if she doesn't I am never forgiving her, she will be the ultimate soap bitch if she refuses to give sanctuary to a poor motherless child

Slightly harsh on Jennifer I think. I mean, I can't stand her, but I do have some sympathy for her reluctance.

Oh I know it is a difficult situation but she took Brian back knowing that Rory existed and that this was always a possibility.

Even so...

I doubt the possibility of her husband's former mistress dying and therefore having to take on a small child again at the age of 62, the child of her husband and her husband's dead mistress, really played too much of a part in her decision not to kick out her cheating husband.

And she didn't know that Brian had any contact with him. That was another of his little secrets. So why would she assume that he would take the child even if something happened to his mother?

I feel sorry for Jennifer too. Poor cow! Wasn't her fault her DH couldn't keep it in his trousers. I also feel for her having to put up with Brian getting all heart-broken about the women he betrayed her with. I think she's being very brave (to start with she was so stubborn I wanted to kick her, but she's moved quite a distance since then)

I still think she should/will take him in. In spite of the humiliation.

If I were her and she existed I would be expecting a steady stream of little Brians to be turning up to claim their share of the farm.

Oh now there is a GOOD storyline Lil! Jennifer refuses to take in Rory, Brian dies and suddenly there are a sprinklng of kids turning up to claim their inheritance(not sure of the legality but you get the idea)

I feel sorry for Jennifer but am continually annoyed by her head in the sand approach to Siobhan's condition. It really puts my teeth on edge the way she bleats 'but she's receiving treatment!' every time Brian tells of how S's condition has deteriorated. Even the other night when he told her it had spread and she had very little time. I know she is desperate for this all not to be happening, but really I don't see how, morally, Brian has any option but to take on his soon-to-be-motherless son. Sadly, for Jenny, she is caught in the fallout, but that is the price she is paying for keeping Brian. I have never got the whole, 'he doesn't exist, ok' attitude JD has to Ruaridh (sp?) as if that would make him go away. There is a little boy, and her idiot straying husband is responsible for him. Anyway, couldn't she pack him off to boarding school like she did with Adam and Debbie?

I've got a theory that Adam and Ian will end up taking Rory - they wanted a baby before and it would mean R could be close to Brian but be brought up by younger parents, and Jenny wouldn't have to take him on but wouldn't be completely rejecting him either. Then they'd get a gay parenting storyline once they'd milked the dying mistresses' orphan storyline. Plus the Brian is the father storyline could be resurrected at a later date. Shall I write in and suggest?

I must say I'm finding it all a bit distressing & close to the bone - as someone said, it's probably a subject that we have all given a passing thought to on our darker days. BUT thank gawd they've at last come up with a good story line, it's been so boring over the last few months. I mean the Ruth, David & whatever the herdsman's name was (he was so dull I've forgotten him)thing was all fur coat & no knickers & sooo dissapointing..

Am I the only one to feel sorry for Jenny? And to think that if Brian wants his son to have a home he can always leave Jenny and bring him up on his own? Seems to me his wanting to bring up the boy means he wants Jenny to bring him up...

I do think Jenny will come round but, bloody hell, how does Brian end up having his cake and eating it all over again?

Not yet heard tonight's - baby was crying. Will have to use the "listen again" facility at work tomorrow - headphones on and everyone will think I'm concentrating on something hard and listening to classical music to help me focus

Was a bit dissapointed tonight - the trailers seemed to suggest a confrontation between Jennifer & Siobhan - I guess that's later in the week then?

Don't Roy and Hayley want a baby, are they lining Rory up for them ? After all, hayley used to be John's girfriend who was related Brian, nephew i think was it, and Roy had a baby with brian's daughter whatsirface in South Africa, so its sort of in the family.

I love the prediction of Adam/Ian taking Ruarairriririrry, and I agree with Margoandjerry in feeling sorry for Jennifer. (I'm just laying out my views so you know where I stand).

Did anything exciting happen tonight - beyond Linda's new colour scheme I got distracted by a phone call..
